Ginn says Drew Brees can "extend his career"

LOL I like Ted but this is hilarious.

And none of those except maybe the last one were "rockets" into Ginn's hands.

They were set into Ginn's hands on a nice, comfy platter... and he friggin' dropped them.

"ERMAHGERSH CAM THROWS TOO HARD FOR GINN!!!"

Really?  smdh...

Yeah but you know, according to some people here in this thread Drew throws a softer ball he should be able to hold on to it. Ted is gonna drop one or two "perfect" Brees balls and find himself on ST only, wishing he'd worked out a deal with Carolina.

I'm not arguing Ginn didn't have iffy hands. He dropped a lot of well thrown balls, he also dropped balls thrown so hard they bounced 10 yards off his chest. You know what helps guys with iffy hands? Passes thrown with appropriate velocity.

Ginn best thing is his speed. His new QB can't throw past 25 yards. Catching has nothing to do with how hard the ball is thrown.

Newton throws harder than Brees. That's just the truth. Brett Favre was the same way. And yes, high velocity passes can be more difficult to catch.

There are advantages and disadvantages on both sides. A pass from Brees is likely to be easier to catch but it's also easier to intercept. It works both ways. A lot of Newton's less than perfect throws went right past DBs or right through their hands whereas off target passes from Brees tend to be right there for the taking.

Now if you're thinking that means Ginn has an excuse for dropping as many passes as he did, no it doesn't mean that at all. Ginn practiced with Newton every single day same as the others. He knew what to expect. And no, not every pass he dropped was a fireball.

I'm not expecting Ginn to suddenly stop dropping passes just because Brees throws a softer pass. It's a style difference, and Ginn's issues have to do with his own technique, not the style of QB throwing to him.

Bottom Line: You're a professional football player. Catch the football.

Granted, Ginn might see it differently.

Brett Favre threw it just as hard if not harder than Cam and no one ever bitched about his passes not being catchable.

Actually, they did. Antonio Freeman and Donald Driver both suffered broken or dislocated fingers catching passes from Favre. Others may have too but those are the names that come to mind.

Having a quarterback that throws that hard means you get receivers that can handle a fastball. If they can't, you get someone else.

Ginn dropped both fastballs and non-fastballs, so he's being replaced.

Extend his career cuz he will not run far due to a weaker arm now?? lol.. whatever i thought he was going to be a Panther for years..just shows its all about the Benjamin's.. Just hope he knows, he has became our Defenses' Be-otch when we play the Aint's.. No hard feelins Ginn..its just part of the game. Remember that! Say don't be cryin when you get laid on your ass!!

One thing I don't think anyone can deny.

Sean Payton understands route concepts and route coordination infinitely better than Mike Shula.

Payton's play designs are brilliant.

So did Bruce Arians of the Cardinals.. Ginn still wasn't good enough to be a WR for them..

    • PJ's completion % was 63% when starting games in Carolina.  Which I believe is better than Bryce when starting.  And again, 4-3 as the starter here and the LONE QB Carolina has been able to actually win with in the Tepper era.  If you ask a gambling gunslinger to come into blowouts.....they are going to go down in a blaze of glory.  Which he would do.  Yeah, he isn't good.  And gunslingers are supposed to have rockier stats than checkdown QBs.   So....why does PJ Walker have a better comp % as a starter than Bryce Young.  And for every knock you want to make about PJ, you can find something or a skillset that PJ does better than Bryce.   I didn't say PJ had good field vision.  He doesn't.  Tell me about Bryce after he comes off the first read lol.  Let me repeat, PJ Walker is not a good QB.  He is NFL depth and an in house arm.  Bryce Young doesn't belong in a convo w/ Jake and Cam.  He belongs closer in a convo with the backup caliber QBs Carolina was forced into playing.  Which isn't just PJ Walker.  But Kyle Allen.  Moore.  Guys like that.
    • Oh I see what you meant by memory. I will trust my memory, I have looked a a lot of those ball charts for Bryce and they trend a general pattern. They thing that has changed that I have noticed more recently is the reduction in the bunching of behind or at  the LOS passes over to his right.  Aside from the quantity of throws recently since the running game has become a more dominant factor.
    • Yes but you basically said you are going from a quick skim of those charts without doing the same for Bryce and/or Andy. So you are going memory vs. snapshots. That's not going to be a very comprehensive analysis.
