I wouldn't be opposed to moving on from DA as our backup, but I doubt it happens. We're comfortable with what he brings to the table, he and Cam work well together, and he's happy being a backup. The guy is massively overrated by the Huddle. To hear Huddlers talk about the guy, you'd think he'd be an All-Pro starter if he wasn't stuck behind Cam. In reality, he's an okay backup. Nothing more, nothing less.

I wouldn't bet money either way, but I hope and think you may be wrong.

Don't even try to bring up the record with DA. .500 (2-2) isn't a winning record and the two wins were both against the Bucs when they were the worst team in football.

Ok. I was wrong on that. For some reason I thought it was 3-2. My stance remains the same.

I have a hard time justifying a SS in the top 10.

John Chavis was the D Coordinator of Eric Berry and Adams and compared them as equals.  Ronnie Lott was taken 8 overall.

Generally speaking however I definitely agree with that.  The odds of Adams have increased greatly since the start of FA but still face some hurdles from multiple angles.

I'd go Adams, I got fournette behind a couple of guys. Rb isn't a premier position anymore IMO, you got 3 very good backs still sitting in FA's, that's says something

It says that they're over the hill and the draft is deep at RB.

We're about to see a swing back toward RBs being more valued. Zeke Elliott is just the start of it. Today's defenses are largely built to defend against the pass. They're prime to have the ball smashed down their throats and I think the pendulum is about to start swinging back that direction, especially as QB contracts, even for marginal starters, continue to grow like wildfire.

History-recent, and both near and distant past show the best of the best RBs must be taken at the top as well, pure and simple.

You've got a point, teams like Denver are weak against the run, I just don't think that pendulum is going to swing back towards rb's favor for some seasons, at least 2-3, new rules and regulation lean towards favoring teams in the passing game. Like I stated in another thread wouldn't be mad one bit if fournette is the pick

Do you really want to be 1 play away from watching a rookie play in a year where we hope to be in contention?

Not me.

DA isn't leading us anywhere.  If you can't beat a Bucs team at home that comes into the game sucking ass and has a kicker that was one more miss away from the ax despite being taken in Round 2, you suck and are disposable, period.

The Seahawks by comparison are saving big money and taking a far bigger risk with a horrible OL and an UDFA with MAJOR on and off field issues as their backup.

I think that Fournette is as close to Marshawn Lynch as you can get, comparing him to Peterson is just nonsense, IMHO Fournette has more power than AP does. That sheer throw you down get off of me Marshawn Lynch running style, but I'd say he's faster than Lynch. He's a rare breed it's hard to compare him, I think AP will make better cuts all day long but Fournette is the guy I'd trust to truck Cam Chancellor down. It's a hard decision, I'm going to stay neutral and say I'm happy with either one.

Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear regarding the NFL draft this time of year.  Allen/Thomas/Hooker/QB/other are just as likely for them at 4.
I really hope Fournette is there and would be ecstatic but have warmed up to Adams.  I still believe at the end of the day our pick is Barnett.  The most disruptive 3 years for a DE in SEC History is plenty enough for GMan even if it's not for the huddle.  He takes it and runs at 8 IMO.

We don't need defense, we need offense. All of y'all are annoying with this Barnett, Thomas, Allen. If y'all want another record like last year then pick them. We need to score points. We need weapons for Cam to throw too and a RB to take pressure off of him.
