The Blame Game (Gantt)

Delhomme played a great game.

Moose and Smitty should be ashamed of themselves, and quite frankly they both seem to be well past their prime.

I can't agree 100% with this. Sure, Smith may have broke off a route that contributed to an INT, but that long pass to Moose (that was INTd by Mike Jenkins in the 1st half) was ill-advised and absolutely killed our momentum we had on that drive. Williams had just picked up a 1st down on a 3rd and long. WTH did Delhomme need to throw a downfield pass to a WR that has never been known as a downfield threat? Why didn't we just keep running the football, or at least mixing the run and pass more effectively? I can never understand why we keep trying these same 'ol crap plays when they never work to begin with.

And no 1st downs in almost two whole quarters is downright pathetic. I KNEW Fox was going to sit on that one score lead when we started the 2nd half. When is enough enough? /rant

Its really easy to say "its on me" when you know there aren't going to be any consequences. If I was Richardson I would tell John Fox if he has one more game "on him" then he is fired. See how much he says after the next loss...

Ding Ding, now we have the root of the problem. We have a QB who's not playing well, but a consevative coach who won't do anything about it. We have a staff that's not coaching well, but a conservative owner who won't do anything about it. No accountability is why this trainwreck keeps on keepin on.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
