Wasn't intended as a shot at G-man. Our zone scheme (assuming we're sticking with a zone heavy scheme under Wilks) places a much higher emphasis on instincts and ball skills than it does pure speed. Norman was a high 4.6 guy and was one of the best CBs in the NFL in this defense. Zone schemes don't require a CB to run step for step with the Julio Joneses and OBJs of the world like a man scheme does. Zones allow DBs to sit back and watch and read and react. Hence why instincts and ball skills are so important.

no thank you. I've had enough with this size and instincts are everything and speed doesn't matter. It has hurt us on offense and defense. We need to get faster.

You almost always do, hence why I take pro day results a little less seriously. Your best comparisons are at the combine where everyone is running in the same conditions. I'd be willing to bet that in cases where there's a big gap between combine and pro day performances (like with Funches s who was 4.7 at the combine vs. 4.5 at his pro day) teams are probably averaging the two to come up with the time they use for that prospect.

FWIW I think Teez could go in the late first/early second still. I'm still not convinced that there's a significant enough difference in 4.7 and 4.3 for it to matter all that much, especially for zone DBs.

That's pretty bad. His teammate Jarrad Davis at linebacker out up better numbers in every category at 6'2 230lbs ( 38.5 inch vertical 10'9" broad jump 4.56 Forty Yard time).

Remember though, 4.63 at the combine. Norman ran a 4.66.

Late 3rd or early 4th? Yeah, I'd consider that. Our CB depth behind our top 3 guys is pretty much trash and I don't think competition for Worley would be the worst thing.

I read somewhere that he is a major headache and extremely cocky but sometimes you want that in a CB. Doubt Getteman picks him but you never know. He was really good at Florida.

I'm all about drafting athletic DBs as confirmed by athletic testing and I'd be thrilled to get him that late.
