The Difference Between the Carolina Franchises

The difference between the Carolina Panthers Football and Carolina Hurricanes Hockey.

Carolina Panthers football went to the superbowl. They gave the coach a contract extension. The league figured him out, and have passed him by. They still have this coach and are slowly crumbing around him.

Carolina Hurricanes hockey won the Stanley cup. They gave the coach a contract extension. The league figured him out. They cut the cord mid season when they still had time to correct things. Made the playoffs and went to the conference finals.

Rutherford watches his team and isn't afraid to make adjustments when they are needed. It takes tough love to build a winning franchise.

Nice work. I was thinking about the same thing.

What I like about hockey is that it doesn't matter if you're the highest player on the team or not; if you don't put out full effort you don't play. If Peppers were on the Canes he'd be on a bus to Albany.

I've seen the Canes win and lose a lot of games, but I've never, ever, doubted any of the players effort.

One of the great things about hockey is that the players are going full speed 100% of the time. A play in football is usually about 7 seconds, then the players take 45sec off...and some more than that **cough cough**. Substituting players on the fly keeps hockey going 100 mph, almost non-stop. Then, when you see someone dive in front of the puck to stop a shot (who isn't the goalie), you have to appreciate their effort. NFL is still my favorite, but NHL is a close second largely because hockey players are by far the hardest working mofos in professional sports.

You are comparing ice cream to horse crap.everything about the canes is superior to the panthers. The team, the front office, the fans, are all light years ahead of the panthers. Its not even debatable

You are probably a cheapskate and can't afford Panther tickets,or else someone that has nosebleed PSL's.That's why you like the cheepie Canes tickets.

Sounds like a lot of jealousy on your part, just keep supporting hockey and leave the Panthers to real and loyal fans.

You are probably a bandwaggon type fan that jumps on winners, only to drop back off when they start losing. :nono:

You're right some of us cant afford 10,000 dollar psls because we are cheap skates. I could only afford the ones that cost $3,000 instead. Where are your PSL's at preppy? No need for me to be jealous since I have season tickets for both teams. I get to enjoy the best of both worlds. I have probably been to more panthe games then you will ever go to in your life time bitch!

You're living up to your screen name here. All the dealing I have had with each team the Hurricanes was the best to deal with.

Maybe he is smart consider he is going to sporting events instead of just one. BTW Upper level has good seats if you're not to lazy to climb the ramps.

    • Not in same league. Caldwell just hit a 10.00 on the RAS. 2nd out of 3830 from 1987 onward.  https://x.com/MathBomb/status/2027885023387349047 Yeah I mean Louis had a sub 9.00 RAS. Still very very good, no doubt. Louis is small, no 2 ways about it. He is likely a sub package lb in nickel packages or specialized WLB. Be fine ST gunner to start for sure. 6 foot flat and 220lb is pushing it for a starting LB. At 10 to 20lbs less than the other LBs he'd better be closer to the top in most timed drills. He's gonna be challenged when some of the wrs in the class can matchup bigger stronger faster, much less TE in the run game.  Yeah instinct matter and he has them, but that size is a massive red flag compared to many of the other LBS in this class.    Rodriguez is the LB that really climbed this week from a pure grit guy to great flash with athleticism people wrote off cause he was a QB at first at UVA. 18.4mph in the backpedal. Production the last 2 years were great. I'd be thrilled with him as the future mike.   Hill likely moved out of 51 and into the top 45 picks ( Ravens at 45 I can't imagine don't bite if he makes it there). Honestly Hill imo is a 1st rounder and I'd be ok with him as he fits the MLB we have missed the last few years. People would crow it's a reach but he's top 30 all-time I'm RAS for a LB at 9.9+ . Plus he was big time in big games when he was healthy. And that br a big check: meds.
    • Miller, Melo, Coby, Moose, and Bridges all on the floor at the same time must be a nightmare for defenses lol. Switch one out for Kon and still a nightmare. Coby really does bring a true 6th man value and looks like he could start if Melo was out after only a few games of getting his feet wet.
