What will happen when Harris returns?

I prefer that Quineten Teal take godfreys spot, he honestly showed more spark to me then godfrey ever has. Chris Harris has been a big loss this season hes our defenses second pulse to Beason. Our defense should only improve after we get CH back! 3 straight wins coming up here watch out!

followed by 4 straight losses.

Harris is one of them players with fire, and we NEED him now. While Godfrey's slowin' whoever down missin the tackle, Harris will get there to strip the ball. Once our O gets the ball back, we can flip-flop between our '09 trademark 3-n-out and scoring...

I'm not ready to label Godfrey a bust just yet. He did pretty well last season as a rookie starting safety, and got better as the year went on. I'm thinking there is something about our new defensive scheme that puts more pressure on him, and he's probably just not ready for it. He has all the tools to be a good starter for a long time. I wouldn't mind seeing Teal start in his place this season, however. Nothing wrong with him developing a little bit more.

With that said, I think Harris' return will provide a big boost for the defense. The biggest thing this team is lacking right now is fire and intensity. Chris Harris embodies those two things.

Seriously, what did you watch. Godfrey was lost week 1 through the AZ game. He was horrible last year.....if anything he got worse last year as the season went on.....b/c teams realized if they thew at Lucas' side Godfrey would not be there doing his job. Lucas wasn't playing man coverage......put he was essentially left on an island b/c of Godfrey.

Harris's return will help us quite a bit - he can help support the run defense and will quarterback the secondary. I think it's also clear that without Harris Godfrey has been exposed. We really need to start considering other options at FS.

He was exposed last year. He's the main reason Lucas was cut. He was just the scapegoat of how bad Godfrey was.

True, but he was a rookie last year so I expected him to be exposed at some level. Lucas was exposed several times when it had nothing to do with Godfrey, but maybe we should have thought outside the box and asked Lucas to play FS while we moved Marshall up to a starting CB job?

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
