act of desperation: Panthers interested in 35 yr old DT Hollis Thomas

Just like Mike Vick didn't get credit for time served, I believe that Smith would have to sit out three games under contract before being allowed to take the field.

From a team roster perspective, a team could cut a player on suspension and fill his spot until that player was ready to come back in, all the while monkeying around with salary caps and whatnot.

why did the rams have him playing the 3.lol

Thomas, a former starter for the Eagles and Saints, said he learned in St. Louis that he no longer can play the three-technique anymore. However, he should be ideally suited to the nose tackle position he’s ear-marked to play with the Panthers.

Because the organziation has seen more of these two unknowns that ANY of us here.

What are you basing your opinion that Sunny is better than Burton?

strictly on potential.sunny has a lot more upside than burton to me,but thanks for asking. plus one of his strenghts was he can get pressure on the qb which is something the panthers need.

The real tragedy in all of this is that Nick Hayden is still on the roster. He is probably the worst DT in the entire NFL right now. The guy is a DT with the strength of a kicker or punter and just gets manhandled on every single play. Total non-factor and complete waste of a roster spot.

    • In a lot of ways it makes sense to just draft a tackle early so they have flexibility with icky's injury and Motons not getting younger. I'd love for them to resign BC cause to me he looks pretty good anywhere they put him
    • Rods the one who needs to go if they don't win a cup soon, Overall I like the way Tulsky operates, do i wish he had pivoted to several smaller moves instead of going all in on a big acquisition? Obviously.   But RBA is the one I'm locked onto, he is too stuck in his ways and if if "his way" can't get somthing done he just triples down and proves his insanity by trying the same stupid crap over and over, the facebook casuals will be like but but but 8 years in a row making the playoffs.... yes we'll guess what we should have at least a cup to show for it, yes only one team wins every year but this year will be the 8th consecutive year making the playoffs.... heck none of us even get excited about that and haven't in four years minimum.  Our top guys are nearing the peak of their prime the time is now, but the canes seem content to stand pat and "make the playoffs" anther 5-8 years in a row.
    • #Panthers TE Tommy Tremble has a $2 million guarantee that is triggered today at 4 p.m. I don’t expect any movement there, fwiw. Tremble is due a $3.67 million base salary this season. He has another $2.4 million in incentives on his deal, per Over the Cap. https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/2032117015121391697?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
