People are really talking about Funchess as our potential #1... again? Remember the massive hype train he had last off-season? He was supposed to be night and day better and challenge KB for the #1 role. Then the season got here and he just plain sucked. Seriously one of the worst WRs in the league last year.

I'm done having any expectations for Funchess. Anything we get out of him at this point I just consider icing on the cake.

He has the potential to be the best receiver on the team from an athleticism stand point and most certainly has the softest hands. I personally prefer him to Benji because of his athleticm and once that catches up with the mental aspect of the game, he likely can be the top receiver on the team. The issue that no one is discussing is that we don't really have a true number 1 outside of Olsen, and every time we try to have one the team falls apart; think Steve Smith and two Benji seasons.

Cam was better with Funchess as his number 2 and 3 option than he has been at any point with Benjamin as his number 2 option. The proof is in the statistics and win column.

Nope, the real # 1 is Greg Olsen but if we are talkng about WR strictly then it will got too Curtis or Ross

Benjamin is just little bit overwieght but  he will perfectly fine for camp.

2015 season:

CAM:     3,837 yds   35 TDs

J-Stew:     989 yds     6 TDs

Olsen:     1104 yds     7 TDs

Ginn:        739 yds    10 TDs

Funch:      473 yds      5 TDs

Brown:      447 yds      4 TDs

KB (2014):  1,008 yds 9 TDs

2016 season:

CAM:     3,509 yds   35 TDs

J-Stew:     824 yds     9 TDs

Olsen:     1073 yds     3 TDs

Ginn:        752 yds      4 TDs

Funch:      371 yds      4TDs

Brown:      276 yds      1 TDs

KB:            941 yds      7 TDs

If something happens to KB I believe Fred Ross will win the #1 spot and Curtis Samuel will be #2.

Funches is good depth player but he hasn't lived up to his potential due to his limited skill set (even though DG claimed he could play all X,Y & Z.

Furthermore, after investigating Ross, his only opening to the roster is by replacing Bersin, who isn't guaranteed a spot anyway. They are basically the same player and Ross isn't likely to be anything more than a possession guy. As a possession guy, you lack speed so you better have good technique and good hands and as of right now, Ross is known both for his drops and lack of fluid motion. So he has one way on the team, create value elsewhere like on special teams, or do something Bersin can't do. As of right now, it doesn't appear he will do any of that.

Prediction: Ross is cut and possibly offered a practice squad position.

40: 4.5 sec is not slow  he is far better WR than Brandon LaFell coming out of college with better Route Running ability and hands

I predict he will win #3 or 4 spot and chance to move up too #2.

I told many Huddlers don't sleep on Dak Prescott , same  goes for Ross.

Great. We didn't need Dak so the point is moot.

As I stated previously, we don't have a number system for the WR, only positions and I doubt you have an understanding of the system enough to speak to what position he would play.

Receivers: Benjamin, Funchess, Samuels, Shepard, CJ, Bersin

CMC will obviously be a receiver as well but he will be considered a running back. Considering we usually only keep 5 receivers, I don't see Ross beating out any of those 6 guys listed above and he certainly won't replace Funchess or Benjamin. If we are trying to get fast, adding another 4.6 receiver isn't the way to do it and he doesn't have the hands or measurables of the guys who possess the same skill set, nor does he possess the leverage via investment of the team.

The fact of the matter is that Cam is better when the offense isn't geared to get one guy the football. We don't need a true number one receiver, only a group of guys that can be counted on when called upon, as evidenced in 2015.

I know we didn't need  Dak but most doubted his talent and I stated that he would be the best QB in this draft  i was referring to talent evaluation , I know talent when I see it.

I already explained how the WRs are used  X , Y , Z

Also its 4.5 not 4.6 which is enough to create good separation.

But if you feel so confident about your assumption then let's make a Bet?

He is better than Funchess , Shepard , CJ & Bersin

Everyone having a heart attack Bc we didn't get a a future back up tight end calm down....Funchess will be converted back to a TE in my opinion.   Your WRs next year:

KB Samuel Johnson Shepard Byrd Bug Howard (or Garrett, Bersin, tbd)

I suggested moving him to TE last yr but the response was his frame cannot hold the wgt he would need...
