Buffet Benji

But seriously half the people on here weigh more than him and are not as tall

None of the people here play professional football where peak fitness is of the utmost importance.

I absolutely loved drafting 13, and most of us have given him a grace period for suffering that really awful injury, but if we're being completely honest, there have been numerous signs that his work ethic is just not there.  That includes the times he gave up on routes.

At this point he has no excuse to not be within his playing weight and trying to get better if he really wants to thrive in this league.  He's lucky he can rely on his size but he needs to put in that work.

Indeed.

Does anyone believe that Thor or TD allow themselves to get out of shape in the offseason?

Cam?

Luke?

HELL no.

Its called being a damned professional.

If a player has respect for himself, his team, and his contract with that team he keeps himself in shape at all times because THAT'S HIS DAMN JOB.

Its been a year and nine months since his ACL. NO LONGER a valid excuse.

I think it's pretty safe to say his option is getting picked up.

Our GM isn't the average mouth breathing huddler that is dumb enough to believe KB is 280.

whether he is 280 or 260, he showed up out of shape. he was out of shape last year and played poorly. why would they pick up the option? let him play out his 4th season and go from there.

plus, the national media is picking up on this now.

Surprised no one had brought up the Kansas City game, or him arguing with coaches on the sideline.  You gotta imagine that Dave is behind closed doors, dip flying everywhere yelling at someone about KB. He made a YUGE deal about Josh Norman being a distraction during the contract negotiations. I can't imagine KB making the news for the wrong reasons is any different.

There are definite inconsistencies about what the exact weight is at this moment. Recent pictures where he was working out tend to make me skeptical about him being 280. You've got people talking about him ballooning to the size of a tackle, like gossiping women. Honestly Rivera is kind of a poo coach in working the press at times. This all started with him, and he did the same thing last year if I recall. If he's grossly overweight okay call him out, but if it's April and he's a little over, kicking a bees nest accomplishes very little.

i hope they don't pick up his option.

he's shown that he is lazy and a poor route runner. maybe it was partly due to poor coaching. no one on the panthers was ever a good route runner while prohl was coaching them.

i would let lance taylor make the decision after the season on whether benjamin returns.

They will pick up the option.

We will pay him 10.5M total over the next two seasons..he doesn't show well, we move on.

Simple as that.

Well this is why you are a fan. This is a reactionary spiteful move.

I could see if he was a bad teammate or involved with off the field problems. That's the only way you just let a former first round pick from just a few years ago walk for nothing in return. You can be sure there would be many WR needy teams that would be thrilled at such foolishness.

One of the more overrated guys on this roster imho. Benefits a fugton from being forced-fed by Cam. Doesn't really generate his own catches and poorly utilizes his very unique skill-set.

And the answer to the Norman question is simple, KB is Dave's attempt at saving saving face after his Smitty debacle. He has alot riding on the success of his Smitty replacement pick, so KB is afforded this type of commitment and longer leash than his red headed step son; Josh Norman who yet again was a Hurney cornerstone that needed to be humbled.

The Bills aren't picking up the 5th year option on Sammy Watkins who they traded a future first for.

Wide receiver is a position that can easily be replaced. I believe in rewarding players for their hard work. We haven't seen that from Kelvin yet.

I want to see more from him, I think this season is make or break for both him and Funchess as far as career trajectory at this point. They need to show out.

But talking about him as if he is a beached whale, and a bad teammate/distraction is just being overly dramatic. Let's see what training camp looks like.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
