I think sometimes we are too hard on a draft when you look at the remaining players from a particular draft on a team after a few years.  That being said, you couldn't call 2014 an overwhelmingly success.

But, I wouldn't call it a failure either.  I think if you were to judge a draft in its entirety 3 years later, getting 2 starters from the draft that are still on your team is mandatory to it not being a failure.  DG did that with KB and Trai Turner, who has been a Pro-Bowler.  So, with that alone, I don't think you can call it a failure.  Don't believe me- look at the rest of the league and the 2014 class.

Still, Ealy was a bust.  No getting around that.  There are no other players from that draft that are now still with the team.  Most of the time you aren't going to find a long-term starter after the 3rd round; however, you should have depth pieces.

However, the one massive wildcard from 2014 was Andrew Norwell.  Even though he was undrafted, he has become a long-term starter and comparable to a 2nd Round pick in terms of quality.  It's not a complete picture to slam DG for the later rounds & Ealy w/o taking Norwell into the equation.

So, IMO, forgetting draft rounds at this point, you ended up with (1) 1st round worthy pick in Trai Turner, and (2) 2nd round worthy picks in KB and Norwell.

When you take everything into account, I would give the draft a B, maybe B- at the worst.  Not great given the fact there are only 3 players on your team 3 years later, but those 3 picks are all starters with above-average potential.

Thank you. At least someone in here isn't looking for excuses to bitch

2 years. Rookie year he was a UDFA that made the roster, last year he got hurt. This will be his third year.

I'm just saying, you're misinformed on how oft-injured you think the guy is.

Also, you are presenting a strawman argument based on playing time. I was comparing time injured based on years in the league.

This is his 3rd year and he had done nothing to have any confidence in.. You made the bad comparison to KB not me.. And please lets not act like udfa haven't played in their 1st season here..

I was talking about the 2014 draft as a whole not just ours. 2014 was a bad draft year for telent. Just look at the list a few good players and tons of JAGs

I swear, fans...

Y'all really think humble pie was served for a roster that recently went 15-1. It sounds like y'all are the ones who need the humble pie. This cut simply means Ron is ready to move on and Marlowe is heathly.

For a roster that went from 15-1 to 6-10 over night? Yes.

Aren't you a Shula Hater anyway? Cant brag about 15-1 for Gettleman and dismiss it for Shula.

Watch every press conference this offseason. Gettleman has admitted his mistakes himself out loud and admitted several times. He never talked like that before this offseason.

If Gettleman truly sits on what we have now, then we'll know safety means nothing to him. But I think we'll bring someone in. And anyone is better than Boston

if anyone is better than Boston we are a year too late in making a move...at least

We went 6-10 because we were injury plagued and our team became mentally weak after losing to Denver.

No, I can, because Shula had nothing to do with it. If Shula were responsible for 15-1, he'd be a HC by now like Shanahan and we would have won the Superbowl by making those simple little adjustments.

Ok man. Good have a good day!

    • Per Bill Barnwell  Broncos part ways with a CB on the roster bubble Broncos get: 2026 seventh-round pick Panthers get: CB Damarri Mathis The Broncos have a rare problem among NFL teams: too many cornerbacks. ESPN's Jeff Legwold projects they could move on from Mathis, who was very good as a rookie in 2022 before losing his starting job after the defense's slow start in 2023. He played just 27 defensive snaps after Week 6 that season and 80 more across 10 games in 2024. With the Broncos using their 2025 first-round pick on cornerback Jahdae Barron, they could justify moving on from Mathis, who might not be active on game days even if he sticks around. Mathis' best season came with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero in Denver, and he hasn't been able to reach those same heights since Evero left for Carolina. The Panthers are set with Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson and nickel corner Chau Smith-Wade as their three starting corners, but Mathis could push the 28-year-old Jackson and serve as Carolina's primary reserve on the outside. Mathis is owed $3.4 million in 2025, so Denver might essentially buy a draft pick by eating some of that cash, similar to what the Commanders did when they sent running back Brian Robinson Jr. to the 49ers.
    • They can get fuged for a 6th and 7th. Doesn't make sense for us for anything less than a 4th and them paying a majority of his salary.
