Unpopular Panthers Opinions

Funchess isn't that bad, he just had less opportunities, and Cam couldn't get him the ball.

TD lost a step.

Shaq should've been a SS. The extra bulk has affected his tackling.

Cam could afford to mature a bit. (This coming from a day one Cam homer).

McCaffrey will struggle to run between the tackles more than 8 times a game.

Where were you in 2016?

Are suggesting our struggles in 2016 were because Cam lacked heart? He took an absolute beating in the opener and still put us in position to win in Mile High only for us all to watch our kicker who is one of the highest paid at his position to shank yet another crucial kick.

If he had it in 2015 it didn't simply go on hiatus, did it?

You're a smart dude. So stand by your comment, or retract it. Don't move the goal posts like a coward.

JR is not a very good owner. Is he a good person? I don't know, he very well could be...but he's not a good owner.

He went to the mat to bring an NFL team to the Carolinas so you could have a team to call your own. His team has been to the Superb Owl twice. He hasn't run his organization into the ground like the owners of teams like Jacksonville, Cleveland, the Sherman Oaks Rams, Buffalo, Atlanta, or the NY Jets.

Sheesh, get off the bus if you can't stand the driver.

I think I'll stay on. I am from NC, after all. I could say the same for you, since you think Cam has no heart. Why follow a team lead by a QB who has no heart.

The defense here has always been rather scary--it has determined our success--specifically, the front 7-as it goes, we go. That is still the case, but this year the offense will be equally scary.  As long as we don't have a special teams meltdown, expect success.

Interesting how some white guys here will be quick as hell to immediately go to bat for our owner who literally told our black QB not to get tattoos or corn rows before we agreed to draft him, but can also nonchalantly claim that same QB lacks heart after watching him literally do flips into end zones over defensive lines just to score a touchdown for his team.

Man we have some real pieces of work in this fanbase.

Seriously Red?

Come on man.

Nah. Nobody else have explained their opinions. I won't be the first. Sorry.

Fair enough, I was just wondering.

JR has done some questionable things, but overall I think he's a pretty good owner.  Not the best, but certainly not bad.

If you don't want to touch it, don't bro.

But you know it's a factor.

Maybe, maybe not.

I think that there is a certain amount of people that side with management/ownership, and another group that sides more with the worker/player.  Maybe race has something to do with it, maybe it's just the way your brain is wired, I don't know, but I'm not going to throw that around lightly.

Some Huddlers/Panthers fans will bash Cam for "lacking heart" and then turn around and bash him for being unprofessional when he is demonstrably upset. There's a thin line between firey and whiny/unprofessional and some would have Cam on the wrong side no matter what.

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
