Panthers sign three tryouts (but not who you're expecting)

I found a cool document that lists fathers & sons who've played in the NFL.  Through 2015 there were 224 pairs!

I looked to see how many have played on same team... (this may not be 100% complete, I didn't spend too much time looking at this).  I found about 32 father / son combos who'd played on the same team at some point, including Don Shula and his son David.  So, it's not ALL THAT rare.  But having Kragen play on the Panthers would be the first father/son duo in Panthers history, obviously.

You been reading Joe Person articles haven't you?  you should know better

I have also been reading the first hand accounts of our site owner Jeremy who said the exact opposite in the bracy thread with pics as proof.

I got curious whether Greg Kragen & Ed McCaffrey had overlapped during their playing years for the Broncos...  Not quite.  Kragen ended with the Broncos in 93,  McCaffrey began with the Broncos in '95.

But I have one more question.  Anyone know if there have been any fathers & sons to play on the same NFL team?

Bob and Brian Griese Miami Dolphins but Im still looking.

Bryan and Willie McCledon Chicago Bears

thanks.  I did some googling myself too...

I found a great document that lists 9 pages (224!) father / son pairs through 2015.

Looks like something like 32-36 played for same team.

Greg & Kyle Kragen 1st father/son pair to play for Panthers (well, Kyle hasn't played for us yet... but at least he's made the roster).

Don & David Shula are on the list.  Both played for the Baltimore Colts at some point...

Jan 9, 2017 - Like they have done in the past, the Indianapolis Colts are once again taking a chance on a player from the Canadian Football League. Today they announced that they have signed outside linebacker Alex Bazzie to a reserve/future contract.

Bazzie (6-2, 240 pounds) has spent the last three years playing for the BC Lions in the CFL. In all, he has played in 50 games and recorded 83 tackles, 29 sacks, two forced fumbles, and eight special teams tackles. In 2016, he was fourth in the CFL in sacks with eleven, earning an All-Star selection for his play as he also recorded 31 tackles, four tackles for loss, and a forced fumble while starting all 18 games. He recorded eight sacks in 2015 and ten sacks in 2014. Before his time in the CFL, Bazzie played collegiately at Marshall.

With the Colts desperate for any bit of pass rush help that they can find, it makes a lot of sense to take a shot on a guy like Alex Bazzie. He’s been a productive and disruptive pass rusher in the Canadian Football League, and in the offseason with the rosters soon expanding to 90 players it makes it much easier to take chances on guys like this, hoping that some are able to stick around (like Jerrell Freeman did, for example).

Kyle may be unique in that he will actually have been associated with two teams his dad played for (us and the Broncos).

If you really wanna impress me then the Father/Son duo can play on the same team at the same time. That'd be it right there.
