Probably the most underrated safety in the league, Kurt Coleman is no slouch. His impact the past two years has been tremendous; hidden by a poor season or other stars surrounding him.

Nevertheless, the stats he puts up are nothing to look down upon. They're nowhere near average level.

Facts are even with a down year, Kurt Coleman is one of the better safeties in the NFL. Pretty crazy to think of it in that way, but Coleman isn't a slouch. Paired with a decent SS and going back to his 2015 position, I wouldn't be surprised to see him break out as a ballhawk once again.

What say you?

his play should skyrocket being at FS again and having another veteran at the SS spot. Also factor in Bradberry and Worley having more experience , Ealy not stagnating the pass rush anymore, and a sick rotation of vets on the dline, this could be looking like a great year for him and Adams.

I think the only thing we're missing on defense is a definite put the fear of god in you pass rusher and better saftey depth.  I feel like we have a lot of solid veterans but no gamebuster like JJWatt or Von Miller. Perhaps we don't need one insane dude if we have rotation of good + guys , idk, we will see.

    • Said it last year as well and I’ll say again If we had drafted Stroud his 2023 season would’ve looked very similar to Young’s and I’m not sure he ever would’ve recovered. You saw some very concerning things last night as the game went on with footwork and pressure. The Texans have done a fantastic job of building around CJ and allowing for error given their defense. Last night was most likely a lot of people’s first time watching CJ this year. But once Slowik offense hit a wall so has CJ. Bobby Slowik absolutely cooked in 2023. A lot of open deep stuff for CJ which played to his strengths as he throws one hell of a pretty ball Its hasn’t been smooth sailing for CJ since that Bears game in 2024.
    • Our biggest problem is that we’ve already spent a lot of resources at corner (horn), O-line (Hunt snd Icky - 1st round early pick), WR (XL and McMillan), and RB (Hubbard).  Because of injuries and FA and XL, we have to compound investment in those positions again. Not good.
    • It would be worth it. The entire line plays better when he’s in the game and I don’t see him getting worked game after game. I saw our old center Bozeman getting destroyed against the Patriots which was funny to see.
