Jake is THE key tomorrow night.

And he usually steps up in these kind of games.

The Giants are reeling but ready to come after JD. Vincent being out will be an adjustment but the backups have stepped up all year.

So, it comes down to pass protection. Romo got lit up last week.

I also expect alot of one on one with Smith tomorrow and that will lead to some big plays.

Here is my fearless predictions. 34-10

Jake- 22-31 218 3 td's. One for at least 60 yds.

SS- 9 115 1 td

Moose 5 85 1

Jarrett 3 38 1(gets his first in the left corner of the end zone.

DW- 70 yds Stew 38. 1 td between the 2. :ihih:

Not to be disagreeable, but Jake is a big key in every game. When he plays well, we usually win, and when he suck we lose. Look at our season last year without him. Look at the games that we have lost this year, particularly the Minny game where he fumbled. But, even still, the entire team pretty much has been off in our losses, but Jake just stands out.

Well, yeah you are being disagreeable.

Maybe you can quantify suck on Jakes behalf.

Under 150 yds? No td? Multi int's?

He will be more so the key because I think the Giants are going to focus on the run and pressuring Jake.

So they feel confident they can apply pressure and make Jake make bad plays.

Add to that one on one coverage and jackpot. You got SS where you would love to have him.

But we can split hairs all day long.

I don't really care if Jake throws for 47 yds as long as we win.

I have grown to love Jake, so I am not going to dwell on the negative. We have all seen his overall body of work over the years.

He has been shaky at decision making at times, but this year he seems to have his swagger back, as does the whole team which feeds off of him. I already pointed to last year when everyone from the coaches on down seemed lost without him, so don't look for me to bad mouth Jake. I look for him to have a fine game tomorrow, like he ALWAYS does. As long as he gets the balls to his very competent supporting cast, and out of the hands of the opposition, then I like our chances. Surely you have to agree with this, so I really don't see the disagreement. Jake is a big game QB as stated in the other post.

Jake's job is to hand the ball off to the running back and then pretend to hand the ball off to the running back. The Giants love to blitz and so you'll see Jake check off with hand signals and we'll run screens, the smoke route, draws, and slants. However, the best thing against a blitzing team is a running game. And we have a tremendous running game.

Makes sense to me. I'll be looking for it tomorrow night.

The best plan for Jake to do is let our RBs run a lot. If that likely wear out the Giants defense, Jake should turn Smitty lose on the defense. I think Smitty & our RBs are the key to winning with Jake as long their no mistakes from him along with no turnover, our defense stepping up, etc.

hmmmm, thats 238 yards for jarrett, smith, and moose on 17 catches, so you think that the other 5 completions are gona go for -20 yards? idk if sack yards go into passing stats, cant remember, if so still not good, he would be on his butt alot for him to complete 5 more passes, yet the sacks would take away 20 + the yardage of the 5 completions to other guys.

    • Yeah, I've been torn up all week about this. And I'm going to be honest, you and I don't know poo about what is going on with the team. Are they losing the locker room? Not seeing anything from the players about that, just seeing it on forums like this. Are they concerned? Yeah, I'd think that would be a reasonable assumption. Are they rallying around Bryce? Yeah, that I'm seeing from the stuff we see of the players. Is some of it a bit drummed up, quite possibly. Is some of it genuine care and belief in their teammate, yeah most definitely. What is Morgan going to do? Hell, that was just week 1. And week one is often a liar. Once in a while it tells the truth (and that sure was an ugly one to tell last Sunday). Most often, it's just what it is. Half the teams that played in week one lost. Straight down the middle. Sometimes it was a close game, sometimes it was a blowout. We got punched in the face, had our lunch money stolen and Jacksonville kissed our girlfriend.  Me, I saw a team that wasn't up to speed yet. We were playing like this was the fourth pre-season game like we used to have. We're going to learn a lot about Bryce, this team, our coaching and team management after this week's game. It's against the Cardinals, a team that has always been one of those benchmarks for it. Beat them and good things happen (remember that killer game Julius Peppers had against them), lose and it often starts the fast slide to the bottom again (sadly, that playoff game with Jake...). Right now, the Cardinals have their Bryce Young, except their guy still has a better PR department. They have a meh-ish defense. They have a star WR that is underperforming and was possibly over-drafted. They don't have many stars to speak of and dwell around 3rd-4th place in their division on a regular basis. In other words, they are pretty much on par with us. And they are a forgotten team as well, playing games in obscurity. So, yeah, we're going to learn the tale of the season this weekend. And honestly, if we lose like we just did or worse, and I was Dan Morgan, I'd be working on polishing up that resume`.
    • Lol I don’t understand why everyone is liking that post and quoting it, it’s from last season. Did I miss something?
    • At this point, I don't want anymore fools gold from Young. He either needs to be in the MVP conversation  (lol) or I want to get blown out every game until he is off the team. Our front office just isn't bright enough to handle anything in between.
