I like the effort he's putting in and, personal bias aside, I'd prefer the RB that can give you a hard yard or two between the tackles when needed but, considering Rivera and Shula's man-love for Fozzy, I'll believe it when I see it.

The one thing that concerned me today about CAP was that he reportedly got stuffed for a TFL on the 1 yard line in red zone drills.  I seem to recall that happening before.  I'm just not sure he can punch it in when we need him to....

I seem to remember that being a common occurrence for any RB whose number has been called lately.  Seems like over the last 6 years, the only dependable short-yardage back we've had has been Cam.

CAP was making noise before when he got the opportunity, he just had some bad fumbles. Also, Rivera preferred Tolbert over CAP for whatever reason.

I looked at 3 sources. He's had one fumble.

I truly believe the primary dislike for CAP by many Carolina fans is based in myth.  Now they truly believe those myths, but myths they are.

Like the myth of "all his fumbles" (he has one).

Like the myth that he's always stopped at the line (he averages 4 yards per carry).

Like the myth that he can't catch (he has a 100% catch rate of the very few passes (6) that have been thrown to him and a higher yards per reception (11.5 y/r) on those passes than (*ahem*) Fozzy Whitaker (78% catch rate with 8.3 y/r at Carolina)).

Now would CAP improve on Whittaker's numbers if he got the same opportunities?  No way to tell since he hasn't been given the chance.  But in the very few opportunities that he's been given, I really don't see the logic in complaining about what he's done as a 5th round draft choice.

On this forum things get said and repeated and become fact despite the fact that the facts are easy to find. By nature and likely due to the work I've done I don't believe much of anything i read or hear until I can cinfirm it.

It can be frustrating or entertaining depending on mood how much bad information is spread.

    • We agree here dawg. I'd love for Bryce to succeed as would all huddlers. I have not seen a single huddler hate Bryce for anything other than his play on the field / potential / skillset. He hasn't gotten any of the irrational hate having nothing to do with football that Cam got. And yeah I understood going into this season with Bryce again as there weren't a ton of options, but man we missed the fuging mark on upgrading at backup QB with someone who could actually push Bryce. Bryce had zero pressure on him with a 100% washed up Dalton being the only other NFL caliber QB in the system. That absolutely needs to change this offseason. Ideally with an actual starter upgrade but that seems extremely unlikely due to not having many FA options and a bad draft. But at the very least with someone like you mentioned, young/upside and/or day 3 pick in the draft.   Another note, we have a top paid and top performing OL, great young talent at WR incl. likely OROY, great RB group, average all around TE group, offensive coach with creativity in the system and good play designs (poor situational playcalling but still I put out current offensive coaching staff over Shula who held Cam back for instance). Not the absolute best situation for a QB to be in, but still a very good situation around him. And yet we have a bottom 8 offense (6th lowest points scored). Imagine taking a victory lap for a QB leading his team to the 6th lowest points scored in the league and the 22nd highest passer rating (despite being asked to do less than many other QBs; i.e. Bo Nix who isn't great either and has a slightly lower passer rating but Sean Payton actually lets him try to throw the ball deep and has him throw significantly more than Bryce). Crazy
    • similar to Atlanta and the NHL.  Atlanta has lost two NHL teams (and lost a minor leaguer).  Now there's another coalition pulling together another proposal for Atlanta to get an NHL expansion. While I'd like hockey to be back in Atlanta 'cause hockey is fun, I am skeptical that it'll happen based on previous teams' experience here alternatively: similar to Atlanta hosting a Major Tennis Tournament in advance of the US Open every mid/late summer.  Aside from the fact that Atlanta is said to be the country's largest Tennis playing city (with both USTA and ALTA, along with a number of side leagues) - playing tennis outdoors in Atlanta summer is miserable *and* they had difficulty attracting players... ticket sales were not good. So the Atlanta Open closed after 14 years.  They just couldn't make it happen, even if for all intents it appears to be massive tennis interest in the surrounding area.
    • So I saw where Luke was doing that show parallel to the game. Whatever it was, statcast something something, knew it would be a good watch. I don’t get ESPN any more but that would be one of the about few things I would watch outside of games.     He doesn’t fool around on the radio broadcast.
