Boulware wants to hit Deshaun Watson so bad, but he knows he's likely not going to get the chance.

"I probably won't be in the game while he's in there. He'll probably be in the first or second quarter, and I'm at the bottom of the totem pole so I'll probably be in later in the game."

Bryan Strickland notes that Boulware admittedly says Watson might have juked him anyway, but that wouldn't be for not trying.

One thing that I'd like to point out is that Boulware is hungry compared to another guy that's trying to make the roster. His attitude appears to be starkly different from that of Damiere Byrd's who basically (in my opinion) said that he should make the team because he did last year (before getting cut and re-signed again).

“What happened last year shows that I can make this team. It shows that I can make plays for this team,” Byrd said. “Going into camp knowing that and knowing that I don’t have to do anything out of the ordinary for me to make this team, just continue to be who I am. If that was enough to make it last year, it will be enough to open eyes this year.”

 
 
Of course the two are in starkly different situations, but attitude and perspective can mean a lot when determining cuts. Byrd just seems a little bit too comfortable for my liking, while Boulware said that he's "at the bottom of the totem pole." [Just saying'!] Even still, Boulware believes he has been proving his worth, but there will be no resting on his laurels when it comes to the preseason.
 

"I'm super pumped for it. I'm ready for the opportunity," Boulware said. "It's an opportunity that I've been waiting for my entire life. I feel like I have proved to the coaches day in and day out that I know what I'm doing, that I know ball, that they can trust me out there.

"I'm looking forward to proving that in these preseason games."

I don't take things out of context. The article is there. I don't see any other way that you can take it honestly. The writer used "confident" in the title, but I just see "comfortable." Too comfortable, even given his situation.

Agreed dawg. Byrd needs to be hungrier if he really wants to make it. More crowded wideout room right now and doesn't look like he's anywhere near a lock for the last spot or two. As for Boulware, love the attitude, but unfortunately I don't think he'll ever make it.

Haha, calm down now.  Wasn't asking whether YOU took it out of context.  Just meant in general, by whoever reported/published it or what not.

I agree he needs to be hungrier/more humble and even said that regardless of context, it was a stupid thing to say.

I'm a Byrd fan but he should have the mindset of going out there and doing the impossible.  Favoritism aside, the deck is stacked against him.  I think he should be more aware of that if he wants a real shot to make the squad.

I dont think byrd was saying that based on last yr he should be ion the team...i think he was just saying he worked hard last year and that he did what was within himself did not try to be anyone else and that if he continues to build off of the effort he made last yr he will be able to make the team..I think he knows its not going to be  a cake walk.  Boulware i like him too.. Its just that he is a rookie and he displays the passion..its a different animal.. Byrd has been here a while.. not saying he is not hungry but is more experienced knows what the coahes are looking for and expect out of him.. You can only be yourself. Whether thats good enough we shall see.

Is Boulware really all that hungry? His underdog attitude seems normal for an UDFA.  Not to poo poo on the guy's hustle, he's just getting more coverage by our media team than a lot of our starters even and it feels like it's only because he has a big personality.  Everything out of camp from him has been underwhelming and it was an uphill battle to begin with.

      I thought this presented an interesting point. It is fair to wonder now, about switching the two QBs as so many tried to do that first year where Bryce was trash and CJ looked great.  It is almost the reverse scenario now and I wonder what CJ would look like here with better weapons better coaching and better protection. Overall, compared year one.  If each player had been in the other place for the three years. I would love to see CJ with this team now.  Just to see.

      I really have no clue what to expect sunday.  To quote one of my favorite bands of all time, Operation Ivy "All I know is that I dont know".  We could win, hell we could win convincingly, we also could lose in blowout fashion.  We could be in a back and forth game with whoever has the ball last winning.  I legit HAVE NO CLUE.  This isnt the dominant bills teams of the past, Allen is still elite and can win any game by himself.  That said, heres my stab at looking at things. Our defense is made to stop this kind of team.  Strong against the run, a great corner but meh talent around the field.  We've stopped prolific run offenses this season.   Javonte Williams - Season low yards and ypa against us. De'Von Achane - Season low yards and ypa against us Breece hall - 3rd worst yards in a game Fact of the matter is, we arent what we were last year, we are a good run defense and that lines up well against the bills, Stop the run.  For once the lack of moving Jaycee might be a good thing, he will essentially lock down a side and without multiple real weapons thats fine.  Buffalo does not have an elite guy, theyve got a gaggle of average dudes.  Allen will stay away from Jaycee, it will be on Mike Jack and Chau Smith Wade do to their part and they will be matched with guys they can play at the level of. On offense, we do what the bills are bad at.  We run the ball well, and they suck at stopping the run.  Rico and Chuba will need 30 carries.  Andy Dalton will need to be opportunistic.  My big fear is what we learned last year, Dalton can get overconfident and make bonehead throws.  Its this simple.  Run the ball, stop the run.  Dont turn the ball over.  If we do these 3 things, we will be in a position to win in the 4th quarter.
