Didn't they look pretty good thought? That is what I kept hearing.

I think teams can look good in Pre Season but when push comes to shove and the games count the money is on the line and the cream of the crop rises. The 49ers are far from the cream. You don't win with a defense that is listed at 31 out of 32 teams against the 1st string team all 4 quarters(No Way). Not many playmakers on the team. OK, I'll give them Hyde and maybe even Garcon but that is it.

Foster is a stud (Saints whiffed on Barnett, Foster, Mahomes, and Malcolm Butler (trade)) in the 1st Round.

They've got athletic DL with length they've drafted in the 1st in recent years.

McDonald and Brooks are gone.

IF they beat us, everything that we've hoped for since 2011 goes up in flames.  No reason for building foundations, keeping up with the draft, having a franchise QB, staff continuity, etc.

There are NO excuses to lose to this football team.

Biggest concern: San Fran pass rush.

Biggest exploit: Run it !!!!! .. You remember that streak we had with like 20 games with 100+ rushing yards(it was something crazy like that)...well they are almost undefeated whenever the opposing team fails to reach 100 yards rush....atleast somewhere around the last 10 times this has happened.

Answer: Stew, Stew, Stew..and when they get gassed = run CMC.

Although the Qb situation over there is garbage, I wouldn't sleep on them.

That was last year though. We were 6-10 last year. If we expect the Panthers to be better, then why shouldn't we at least allow for the possibility that the 49ers could be better?

They don't have one returning WR from last years roster, all fresh faces, obviously that plays into our favor as far as chemistry is concerned, so our secondary should hold their own this game.

Starting WR's: Pierre Garcon & Marquise Goodwin

Pierre Garcon - Going in his 10th year, had 79 rec. for 1,041 yards last year.

Marquise Goodwin  - Coming off a career "high", 29 rec. for 431 yards.

I suppose Bradberry will be on Garcon & Worley on Goodwin. I like our odds in the back end this game.

I watched the first half of their game against the Vikes. I thought they looked quite good. Vikes couldn't move the ball at all. Their DL is impressive.Reuben Foster looked great at LB. They have a ST guy called Bolden who made some amazing runs after catch. Saw an amazing long Goodwin TD. I was a big fan of TE Kittle who scored a nice pre-season TD. Surprised they cut Kerley though..

    • Ohio State no. 8 won it all last year.  No. 6 Penn State and no. 7 Notre Dame advanced to the semi-final. This year no. 7 Ole Miss is going to win it all.
    • agreed.  Lack of games/opportunity makes him a non-factor in OROTY talk.  He is just now getting the stage where there is legit film on him.  Takes awhile to really see how guys react to all the different scenarios and to find the real weak spots on a QB's play in an O.
    • Oh boy how the tables have turned...the passion and extent at which you defend Shough would make even the staunchest Bryce fanboys blush.  The bold part is especially straight from their playbook.  Even if someone here were to withhold giving Shough props, it's pretty understandable as a Panthers fan.  What's quite odd is becoming the biggest stan of our most hated rival's starting QB.  I don't think even Saints fans drool over him this hard. For the record I think this talk about "stans" and "fanboys" is cringe AF and I'm admittedly being rather hyperbolic because this is exactly the kind of discourse and language you personally love to engage in and it's fun to play in the mud from time to time.  There is absolutely no world where you do not meet your own criteria of a "Super Stan" for Shough with how loosely you apply that label to people for Bryce in here.  You're like the Final Boss of Super Stans.
