Could this the best defense in Panthers history?

Yes, it has only been two games, but I have seen enough. Peppers even said yesterday that this is the best defense he has ever been on, and he was on some pretty good ones back in the day. 

If they can stay healthy, I feel like this will end up being the best defense the Carolina Panthers have ever put together. And if that is true, the Superbowl is within reach no matter how long it takes for the offense to get its act together. 

 

What say you? Is this defense tops?

Best front seven for sure.  I still have questions about our secondary, but if I had to answer, yes probably.

If they keep pounding like they have been. I do not see why not. They are playing strong, tackling well it's just downright sexy. And I'm very impressed with our secondary so far, Worley especially.

Actually when I think about it, this front seven minus Julius was here in 2015.  We had a better secondary with Tillman and Norman.  I might have to say we were better in 2015 due to the secondary, but Julius certainly adds oomph to this defense.

I agree with notion but I would like to see more in the Turnover area Once the running games gets going , this defense will go up another level with ability to stay fresh for 4 qtrs.

Too early to tell.  So far we've only gone up against the vaunted 49ers and Bills passing attack.

The front 7 has more experience, Shaw was a rookie and didn't play as much.  I wouldn't say the secondary was necessarily better in 2015.  Tillman was old and got picked on when QBs had time to throw.  Then he got hurt and we ended up signing Cortland Finnegan and Robert McClain who definitely are not upgrades over the corners now.

You could say that about a lot of games.  How many did we lose by a possession last year due to seemingly "bad luck."
