Panthers still pretty early in process of talking through what to do w/Olsen and his roster spot. IR/DTR certainly possible but we’ll see.

What is the alternative? IR straight, even the most diehard Hurney would curcify him. Or leave him on roster?

Yeah if we are going to IR/designated to return him it would be done by end of day...so that we can get the time rolling.

A player who has been designated for return is ineligible to practice until six weeks have elapsed since the date he was placed on Reserve, and is not eligible to return to the Active/Inactive List until eight weeks have elapsed since the date he was placed on Reserve. The business day (prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time) that the player is placed on Reserve counts as the first day.

That would make all the sense in the world because it opens up a roster spot until he can come back.
