Perspective for the odd attitude of the Huddle

Playing any sport is about winning, and winning Championships.

Championships, are often won by defense, not elite offenses.

There are so many ways a team can win. It wouldn't bother me if we won every game by less than a TD. Certainly would make for a more exciting, and memorable season.

That being said, I  certainly didn't expect our offense to he producing high out of the gates. Not with Cam's shoulder, and an oline still gelling.

A lot of miscues, and missed opportunities is the truth of the matter.

The offense will get better.  I don't see the point in piling on hate at any of the coaches over the slow offensive production at this point. Losing Greg is going to affect the offense too. That won't be the coaches fault either.

This is a team sport, and as of right now, the Panthers are undefeated, with a lot of room to improve. I, myself, consider that a good thing.

When we went 15-1 we won a lot of close games and cam didn't start out good and ended up MVP. I say don't panic and enjoy the wins no matter how close a win is a win. When we went to the super bowl in 03 we won a bunch of close games as well. I don't care how we win as long as we win.

Seattle won a superbowl primarily with their defense.  It allowed a total of 40 points in three games.  The Giants won two of them by holding Tom Brady to his lowest scoring Superbowls.  In fact, if  you look at the Giants runs thru the playoffs in both year, they won primarily on the strength of their defense (including a 24-2 drubbing of the Falcons).

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
