Team has wasted so much draft picks on wrs and let Cam get killed

It doesn't matter how good the wrs are if Cam is getting knocked the stuffing out him every game.  This isn't the way you protect a franchise QB.  When Jeff Gross left, drafting the next all-pro LT should have been priority #1.

We need to use 2 TE set and help the tackles out in pass protection or run blocking.

We need to sign either Barnidge or make a trade with Hawks for Luke Wilson or Graham.

Since 2011 no team has drafted less offensive players in the first 3 rounds than the panthers.

So that's a flat out lie.

What is a lie???    KB, Funchess, Samuel all drafted when the team could have easily upgraded the line with an all-pro caliber players than project wrs....

Nope we needed KB, and we still need more receivers.

Instead of blaming the receivers how about you blame drafting Butler, Shaq and Ealy

There haven't been any tackles that I've wanted in the draft during the Gettleman era other than Bolles and Robinson.  I believe Gettleman should have chosen one of them.  That being said, I am a proponent of acquiring steadfast, proven tackles via FA.  Gettleman failed to do that, and there was no good excuse for it as far as I'm concerned.  I don't see drafting WRs as the problem.  It's not like we've invested all that much.  KB has worked out regardless if he hasn't been perfect. It's just a matter of opportunity for the others, including Cam making the proper reads and getting them involved in the offense.

Truthfully we only drafted 2 receivers. Funchess played one year as a WR his last, he was a TE the rest. CMC and Samuel were RB/H-Back in college just throwing that out there

While we're on this topic, most people said KB/Funchess are a problem together. Does CMC and Samuel cancel each other out? Should we start using Samuel the same way we use CMC when he's out? Regardless I dont believe Shula can design a whole offense to incorporate them both and be effective. He just can't.

    • Canales up first. Guys got their legs back yesterday and started a little slow when they came out Bryce challenged them in the huddle and they responded "Dominant practice for the defense today." Praised turnovers, "beautiful hits," and being physical Praised Moehrig, Ransom, Incoom, and Jones II Confirmed playing starters. Predominantly a young team and can't pass up an opportunity. Emphasized game day routines such as nutrition, body readiness, etc. Plus it's a bunch of new guys on the defense. Bryce will start. Will play them the first two, but starters might sit for the third game depending on how practice goes that week. Nic Scourton has a mild hamstring that happened in special teams. DJ Johnson had an issue with his hip flare up and is getting checked out this afternoon. Experimenting with approach to preseason games. In Seattle they played their starters in all but the last preseason game and what Pete Carroll was looking for in terms of mental readiness to play football. Thomas Incoom has been getting a lot of work with AC Carter adding to his toolbelt. Getting better as a rusher and being physical in the run game. Looking for a consistency in response. 1pt for a win, 3pts for a TD. Defense doesn't like that, but in games if they give up one go ball the score can swing. They challenged the pass game and the run game today. Guys are getting together before, between, and after team drills to challenge each other Job of the coaching staff to set the foundation for our schemes, philosophy, and expectations of what it's like to play Panthers football. Powerful when players take that and the locker room owns it. That's when it becomes our team, their team. At the end of the day, the men on the field have to rebound from a bad play, celebrate the good plays, and keep each other in tune for a whole game. Robert Hunt is amazing. Size, talent, quickness, flexibility. Really intelligent guy that there will say himself there are technique things he needs to work on. Regardless of where players are at, there's a constant learning curve and loves that Big Rob is challenging himself with the position coach. Thinks the digital down and distance can be really valuable. Getting the information quickly will help with the flow of the game. Thought TMac looked great but there were some near misses that he'll have to get in the room and communicate with Bryce on while reviewing film. James Mitchell keeps doing right and his trust factor is increasing with the QBs. If you're right and the coverage says the ball goes there, it'll come. Had some issues at the start of camp but is trending up. Newton or Person: "It looked like today was beyond thud but short of live. What do you call that?" Canales: "No, that's thud. In my mind, that's what thud should look like. The challenge for our defensive guys is can you put your body in a position where we know that would've been a tackle." Whizzing by, tagging with two hands, etc doesn't show you whether you would've made a tackle. That's not real football. Let's the play extend because guys have to be ready to chase sometime where the ball squirts out from a pit. Can't train to say "Ah, it was a tackle" and relax but instead play with intensity through the whistle. Lathan Ransom is bringing the physical style of play that they saw on film. Has been really into the details and someone that they can count on. Has really given himself a chance to start at the other safety position. Excited for the extra energy from a game-like environment that they'll get from FanFest. Used to have four preseason games and now FanFest feels like that first one. Will give ST full speed reps to evaluate. Making plays and feeding off of the fans. Window closed quickly on the INT to finish practice. CSW baited Bryce with some movement and made a great play. Saw it from Bryce's perspective with TMac coming open. Has played all over the secondary that they can count on to speak loudly and be on the same page with his teammates.
