Trying to force Cam into being a dink and dunk QB is not gonna work

You're not exactly wrong. 

 

Either Cam is capable of throwing down the field and we need to quit babying him or he's not and somebody needs to be fired for deciding he can wait until the last day of March to undergo a major operation on his throwing soldier, in which case I question if he should even be out there if this is the "new normal."

If we can't dink and dunk, then we have to provide time for the long developing deep ball - which we currently can't... and/or run the ball down the throats of our opponents - which we sometimes can.

Unfortunately, this is easy to stop by filling the box and bringing heat - see SB50.

To be fair, Funchess was open both throws I saw. Cam just missed him horribly both times. 

But I will agree, they need to run the fast guys out further to clear out the intermediate routes for the bigger receivers.

Wasn't arguing the throws couldn't have been better.

But it's about mixing things up. We just kept trying to force a square peg in a round hole.

Byrd WAS out there yesterday. i honestly didnt see whether he was getting separation or not because Cam was staring down receivers and throwing interceptions. i dont think he took one shot at Byrd.

With Shula it's all or nothing. Unfortunately Shula had one season he had great success. Mostly because Cam Newton was nearly unstoppable but he got the credit. I honestly at this point would take Jeff Davidson over Shula.
