Completely forgot how much #12 sucks on the free throw line

once Kemba and Batum realize you shouldn't throw it down to Dwight - and just let him get easy put-backs - our team will get much better.. forcing offense through Big Al is way different then forcing offense through D12..

Lamb by the way - has been getting great praise from Cliff and coaching staff for offseason.. hope it translates and isnt just fluff..

You can tell that Dwight and Kemba need to work on their PnR chemistry together (on offense and defense) a little more and it'll take a few games for Dwight to find his footing in the offense, but he definitely contributed in the areas we really need him to be strong in.

Positives:

  • He had 10 rebounds (4 offensive) in 23 minutes of play. Would have had more, but Celtics fired up a ton of threes which led to longer boards out of his reach.
  • He had 3 blocked shots and he definitely altered some others
  • And while he didn't convert at a good clip, Dwight got to the foul line which has independent value

Those things listed were exactly what we really need him for. A monster on the glass and an elite rim protector.

I think the offensive chemistry will improve as he gets more run with Kemba and Nic. Not expecting Dwight to be the all star he was a few years ago, but he's still talented. He will be a valuable piece for us this year I think

Lamb had 17 points off the bench which was great to see.

He and Monk were especially fun to watch running around on the wings together. If Frank can become more consistent, that second unit could have a ton of fire power

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
