You can find screenshots of the worst receivers in the NFL "open". Doesn't prove poo. The guy has been on 3 teams and not done anything.

Either every QB he has played with for some reason won't pass him the ball. Or he sucks.

You sound upset

He's a jag, fans said the same thing about Philly being always open and Cam not throwing him the ball.

Always open on the huddle means being being open on 3 or 4 stills out of the 200 plays we have ran.

And you're just an idiot

I get what you're saying, but you must understand that Shepard is first and foremost a special teams guy. He wasn't necessarily supposed to do "anything" as a receiver except fill in when necessary. So he doesn't suck in that regard depending upon one's perspective, he is more a victim of some Panthers fans' unrealistic expectations.

Curtis Samuel wouldn't have ever been drafted if the FO planned on Shep being our permanent answer in the slot. Of course with Samuel on ice and unable to really get going, perhaps Shep can squeeze out a few hundred yards and a couple of TDs. That's all he's ever really done as a fill-in WR. His value is on special teams.

Exactly. He was brought in as a JAG (as a receiver). He beat out several other JAGs that we tried out during the preseason. Every team has them. Admitting that he's unlikely to make the pro-bowl doesn't mean he's a waste. That being said, I actually think (based on his play last year with the Bucs and preseason) that he has a lot of untapped potential as a WR. Hopefully, we figure out how to get the ball in his hands more often, and see what happens.
