Lions wary of Cam Newton's running: 'I don’t think he can beat us throwing the ball'

They are kind of right though. This week Cam had a good game and he rushed more times than weeks 1-3 combined. If they shut down his running he may have a bad day passing.

So...if they are accounting for Cam running...that open up something else...right?  Go ahead Lions....risky for ya either way.

Not sure why Panthers fans thinks Newton is a huge advantage, I would take Stafford if given the choice.

Should be a close game, with the deciding factor going to the Lions because of a better special teams unit (aka Prater).

It's okay, you can go be a Lions fan and follow Stafford all you want.  Cam is my QB

Not sure how that would  work this week. Those DBs don't allow much and are always around the ball.

To me that is very misleading. They have faced 3 mediorce QBs who threw quite a bit. So there success is tenuous at best. They don't really pressure the passer well with just the front four, which seems counterintuitive to their passing defensive success.

If our Oline, whether by scheme, or luck, can keep Cam relatively clean. He should have plenty of success throwing the ball. If we continue to run the ball half way well. We should put plenty of points on the board.

That defense has 2 Pro Bowl caliber defenders. (If Ansah was healthy, I'd say 3.) They are held together by grit, and duct tape. There really is good chance our Offense should do good work.

Do you really want me to write a novel?

All I ask is, if you are going to throw a hot take out like. "Those DBs are overrated". Just maybe you could, you know, explain yourself?

Cuz, I am pretty sure you are not well versed on the Lions. So this stance is born of glibness, rather than actual knowledge.

    • I’m old enough to remember when I wanted to draft Njoku We brought back Mitchell and officially kept Tremble. Mitchell Evans isn’t going anywhere. Sanders who knows, he was awful last year I fully agree we need a better TE. This room is awful Njoku would be a massive help in the red zone. However it really seems like Dan and the FO prefer to go young on offense
    • You’re underselling Loveland imo. He’s so damn good. You can line him out wide and count on him to win 1 v 1. I don’t see that from Sadiq. Loveland is going to go over 1000 yards next season I’m not overly asking for a WR3. It’s just one of the few directions Morgan could go in round 1.  Let’s say Thieneman, Fano and Cooper are all on the board it’s a tough decision. I just don’t see how this team would take Sadiq over some of those guys given the way they run their offense. Our tight end room is easily bottom of the league so I can definitely see why someone would want a tight end though. At one point during the season I was on the Sadiq train as well. I just don’t think value wise for us specifically it makes sense given our team as a whole As far as tight ends go in this draft I really like Max Klare. Very smooth mover
    • Some of you need some serious help with the way 9 lives rent free in your heads I know for a fact, Dan loves Bryce. Bryce is his guy. This offense is very young and they’re asking Bryce to do a lot. With Idzik taking over playcalling duties it’s a move that is another step in the process of Bryce taking control of the offense. 24 years old. This youth movement on offense and putting more on 9’s shoulders is going to pay off in the long run
