Kelvin Benjamin Is The NFL’s Clutchest Receiver

"According to TruMedia, Benjamin’s been thrown to on 30.6 percent of the fourth-quarter routes he’s run. That’s tops in the NFL over the course of his career. Factor in his league-leading touchdowns-per-route average (0.034) and eighth-best yards-per-catch average (16.3), and Benjamin produces more offense every time he goes out for a late-game pass than anyone else on the planet."

This is not me trying to poo on the guy, he's been really solid this year and I have been happy with his production thus far, but do those stats take into account Garbage time stats as well?

I can remember numerous times last year and his rookie year in which Benjamin didn't do a whole lot in the first 3 quarters, only to have him go off when the other team was winning or in prevent defense. It's the same for Allen Robinson who padded his stats quite a bit in garbage time throughout his career.

It would be looking at every other receivers "garbage stats" as well though if we're only looking at 4th quarter passes.

That's why I mentioned Allen Robinson specifically as well. Blake Bortles puts up elite numbers at QB when the game is out of reach. Allen Robinson is the main beneficiary of that.

Did Kelvin hurt his knee? The DFS world is already talking about CMC value with kelvin out.

Of course he hurt his knee. He almost got it broke in half several games ago. He will probably be dealing with this issue on and off for a while.

    • I think there actually is a strategy to dealing with the "problem." At least IMO. Figure out the success rate of position by round, where the average of each is drafted, and which colleges produce contributing position players regardless of draft position. Then build your draft board like you always would based off talent. See how players fit into the draft predictor, and then track how it unfolds. All those little pieces can help you figure out who to take and where they might fall and get you on the front end of runs instead of chasing scraps. Fitterer could never figure this out and was the worst at reading a draft I have ever seen.
    • There are some real dog poop tackles starting on teams out there. While he may not ever be a top tier tackle, he has been more than serviceable I'm my opinion and offers great flexibility. We should be making him a good offer. OL is where you should be more than willing to invest dollars.
    • Icky was always a weak pass blocker come out of college. Cross was the premier pass blocker in that class. Much easier to learn run blocking than pass blocking. I never expected Icky to ever become an elite pass blocker. If he was average, that's all I really expected. I did expect him to be an absolute mailer in the run game.
