On the "positive" side

If we win next week we will be 5-3 with a 1-1 record in our division. And every single team in our division has had at least one horrific game which has had their fans clawing at their eyes. So the division is still wide open for the taking. Surely nobody can argue that we can play better than we have? Even by accident.

A loss to the Bucs pretty much wraps up the season. I’m not hopeful

Having a terrible divisional record is obviously a killer. But I wouldn't be surprised if every team splits their divisional match-ups, and I just don't see any of the teams running away with it this year. Pretty much all of the NFC South teams have been up and down. But you're right. If we play like that again we will lose.

We have to play better, period. What other teams are doing right now really doesn't matter of we can't right our own ship.

I agree that If we don't improve it won't matter. But our division rivals failings give us a little more leeway to turn it round. Look, I'm just trying to be positive. We can't possibly sustain this level of ineptitude with this many good players. I hope.

    • It goes deeper than that for me. When I started watching the Panthers as a kid I fell in love with Mark Fields’ story during that SB run. He wore #58. Then TD wore it and kept the tradition of the being the soul of the Panthers. The next time someone wears #58 I hope brings that same spirit
    • T-Mac is a nickname, Tet is a shortening of Tetairoa. Like you said below... your name is Jonathan, I could see "Jonny" being considered a nickname, but Jon isn't a nickname, it's a shortening of Johnathan, see the difference? And if your mom named you Jonathan for it's biblical significance/meaning, because she was very religious, I think it would be different. T-Mac is Polynesian, so much in their culture has deeper meaning for them, particularly names.  So for his mom to feel this way, I highly doubt it's just because she likes the name Tetairoa and not Tet, it's much more likely than not to be because the name itself has a deeper meaning in their culture.   Particularly as T-Mac himself has often talked about how much his Polynesian heritage means to himself and his family. And no, I'm not saying all this because of how much he's my guy, if he was just "normal american" and his name was Jonathan and he didn't like fans calling him Jon, I'd probably just say tough poo.  It's that he's Polynesian and I know things like names have a much deeper meaning in their culture than they do in ours for the most part. For whatever it's worth, a quick google search.......
