Does John Fox keep his job if the Panthers finish 7-9?

He's never had a record worse than 7-9, and by all accounts this season looks to be heading south of that record. A ridiculously tough schedule and a horrendous offseason (characterized by NO free agent signings!!! WIN!!!) have left the Panthers crippled out of the gate. Who does the blame land on? Well John Fox, who has already stated he expects to get fired.

But what if he pulls some wins out of his ass, and rallies the team to a 7-9 finish, like he did back in 2004? Think he'll get another pass? It's a similar situation, but not entirely. The '04 team was fresh off a Superbowl appearance and had a bad string of injuries, which contributed to a bad start. But the team rallied and came one win away from making the playoffs. The '09 team is coming off an implosion in the playoffs and is relatively healthy by most accounts. Will they rally? I think it starts today if they are going to, because at 0-4, the door is basically closed.

The Fox era is done, if I was him I would at least try to go out with a bang, it's time for a new coach, new QB (I love his spirit, but question his talent at times). Loving this team is like going through a divorce, you love what once was, hate the bad times(now), but you know it's time for a change. But the victory over the deadskins was good through...........

    • I don't do locks lol. I just bet +1000 and up and can hit at a decent rate. Combine ml winners and team shots on target. Do better in champions league than anything else
    • Did not expect this from national media. https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/10-best-nfl-defenses-2026-texans-seahawks-broncos 10. Carolina Panthers   Key additions: OLB Jaelan Phillips (FA), LB Devin Lloyd (FA), DT Lee Hunter (draft) Key losses: DT A’Shawn Robinson (FA) Don’t be surprised to see the Panthers, who ranked 15th in points allowed and 16th in yards given up last season, make the leap into the top-10 conversation in 2026.  They added two of the marquee defensive free agents in edge rusher Jaelan Phillips and linebacker Devin Lloyd. Cornerback Jaycee Horn is coming off back-to-back Pro Bowl seasons. Carolina lost starting defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson in free agency but essentially replaced him with second-round pick Lee Hunter, who had 10.5 tackles for loss at Texas Tech last season.  Ejiro Evero, one of the NFL’s most respected defensive coordinators, has plenty of talent to work with.
    • unless you have a bonafide superstar at Qb you bring in competition every year until you do & or at the very least you want a legitimate plan B in case of an injury .the problem in Carolina is they know Bryce ayoung most likely could not actually win a real legitimate NFL Qb competition right now & if & when he did not win that aforesaid Qb competition it would not only be a major distraction but a setback to his overall development.& moreover once the fans realized they had a much better Qb on the roster it would be alot of public pressure to start the better Qb  ...just saying
