I know it's not keen, but man. Props to Gettlemen again. At least when our QB goes down, we can still win games.

Would you say the Packers GM is garbage?  Look at their damn roster.

Not sure, maybe.  No backup ever is gonna replace Rogers.  I don’t follow the Pack like their my team.  My team has Hurney and Shula, that uses up all my patience/hate to look around for more poo to bitch about.

I mean, from a personnel standpoint, I just can't fathom having Aaron Rodgers and not trying to put a great Defense around him.  I just don't get how as a GM you can be that complacent, and have such a shitty team around that great of a QB.

I mean, we have a franchise QB and we didn't see the need to put a competent OL around him. So, there is that.

Meh, they've had Aaron Rodgers for a lot longer than we've had Cam.  Plus, they've tried, it just hasn't worked out.  Even though we do have two phenomenal Guards.  And a solid RT.

I get your point.  No reason not to have multiple titles with a guy like Rogers.  Seems you could patch a scrappy defense together or at least a solid run game.

Modern day Marino.

I am pretty sure they have tried pretty hard to draft defensive players as well. But, luck and less than competent talent evaluation have not created successful scenarios in either of our cases.

I mean, they still have Clay Matthews and he's very blah at this point.  Clinton-Dix is solid, but, I dunno.  They haven't tried to sign anyone Free Agent wise, either.

Nah, you can't throw the Marino scenario out on a guy that does actually have a ring. I would call it more a Peyton Manning scenario(post-2015 BS title).

If you look at most of their offseason signings, they have been predominately defensive players. I would equate that pretty similarly to our scenario on the OL while Cam has been here. They have TRIED but mostly failed miserably.

Disagree, Peyton was Peyton’s problem.  Struggled to get over the hump.  Rogers is making chicken salad out of chicken poo.

Peyton had Faulk,Edgerin James and Freeney and Mathis

Rogers had/has Eddy Lacy, Ty Montgomery and Clay Matthews.

the ring is a big thing Marino never got but their situations are more alike than Rogers/Manning.

Yeah, it looks like the historical stats do bear this out. Which, I wouldn't have disputed the "choker" label on Peyton, for sure. I had forgotten how good the Colts defense was at times, obviously.

    • Got to give some credit to the coaching staff on these. You can grab top talents but without good coaching, they just fizzle out. We've seen that a lot around here.
    • Oh, no TV for tonight's game unless you have the NHL Network, I believe. I could be wrong, hopefully?
    • Early returns are great and exciting but also worth noting that Gettleman had a few drafts that looked incredible early on and wound up mostly sucking (2014 mainly). Also PFF; grain of salt, etc.    I'm completely sold on Tet being a stud, knocked a high pick out of the park like we needed to and always should. Nearly sold on Scourton. Not sold on Princely but he had flashes. Not sold on Etienne as more than a 3rd stringer and special teamer, but that's not terrible for his draft position. Big fan of Ransom and think he'll be a starter.  Cam Jackson : IDK, I see limited upside but we didn't see much of him Evans was a nice find for draft position and he had a great rookie year for a late round rookie TE with plenty of veteran competition. Not sure about his upside though, seems like best case is a long term #2/3 TE, which isn't bad. Jimmy Horn, personally I didn't see a damn thing from him that impressed me all year. And he got a lot of opportunities. Pulling for the kid, but not convinced he's an NFLer.   UDFA: Fitzgerald was an amazing find
