Shepard to me seems like a guy who's been a casualty of Cam's abbreviated practice schedule, especially in the preseason, and our constantly shifting offense during the season. He just could never build any chemistry with Cam and find his niche in the offense . Athletically, he has the short area quickness to get open and seems to run decent routes, but the hands have obviously been inconsistent. Honestly, we need him to break out for this team to go deep in the playoffs, he's the only guy left with the characteristics to present a real threat opposite Funchess.

If Shepard is our savior,  then we're doomed.

I’m not saying Shepard can’t contrubte but Clay has far more upside .

Like I stated billion times the real #1 recvier will always be Olsen and Dickson will take over some of the load as well.

Im more concerned about J-Stew being force fed even if he is getting stuffed for minimum game.

CAP should be getting more carries!

People need to stop referring to TEs as WRs in my opinion.  We need WRs. Period!

Clay is more exciting,  I will give you that.  But at this point,  I am wondering if that's because we just haven't seen Clay on the field as much.

I guess now people have awakened from their @Saca312 con job,  and realized that Shep is exactly the JAG he's always been in the receiving department.  And it really wasn't hard to figure out.  Sometimes you just have to KISS (keep it simple,  stupid).  The Bucs let him go and kept Adam Humphries.  That should have told people all they needed to know. This,  notwithstanding his ability on ST (which has been a little above average in my opinion).

Unless Hurney becomes less Hurney I doubt it gets better next off season. The FA pool is thin and that's where Hurney actually is good.

Nah,  man.  He was better at the draft in my opinion.  Other than his Jedi mind trick on Chicago for Olsen (which wasn't even FA),  I don't rightly remember one pickup of note (not saying there wasn't one).  I guess maybe Ken Lucas, but that didn't rightly blow my socks off (and don't say Keshawn Johnson).

Jake Delhomme, Stephen Davis, Jeremy Shockey, Ricky Proel and he also brought back #87 after his stint with the Bears.

Delhomme? Steven Davis? Ricky Proehl? He also filled our roster very well until JR cut the money off.

Clay, Byrd, and Samuel if they can all stay healthy next year will make for a pretty good WR core to compliment Funchess, thats  a lot of speed in all those players.

At this point I just want them to turn into more polished WRs in terms of catching and route running.

Yea, its obvious Clay and Bersin are better than Shepard at this point, simply by virtue of them catching the ball alot better. As a WR you cant make a difference if you can't catch the football . Shepard actually moves pretty well with the ball in his hands from what ive seen this season, but if he cant catch it in the first place then that skill doesnt even matter.

Was never a Delhomme guy, sorry. Proehl was near the end, though he was still a smart addition as we tried to make that final push for the Bowl.  Davis was still a stud. Forgot about him.  Guess I am getting old,  although I still say Hurney's best acquisitions were through the draft.

One thing I will say is that I'm very glad Mister miser will be gone.
