Messing with the NFL Playoff machine this morning

There's an entirely plausible scenario that sees the Panthers head into Week 17 playing for either a 1st Round Bye or staying home entirely. Hold on to those butts.

Panthers need to win this week, but I’d be lying if I said I won’t be looking at the Seahawks and rams scores on Sunday. We need both of them to lose.

inherent to the scenario I mentioned above is the rams dropping two of four.

I think if we get to week 17 with a chance for a bye we will have at least locked up a WC.  Im guessing we would be 11-4 at that point.  Outside of some crazy results I dont think we can go into week 17 at 10-5 hoping to clinch the division.

Negative, the above scenario is very much in play.

You are right.  I just did it and we would be left out at 11-5.  When is the last time an 11-5 team was left out of the playoffs.

our Chicago loss really hurts us. basically causes us to loose all the tiebreakers. we could easily win the next three and still be in a do or die situation come week 17. it fuging sucks.

Bottom line is to control our on destiny we need to run the table.  I thought 3-1 would be enough to assure a berth but we need to make plans to run the table.

3-1 is good enough to go, the problem is 1 of those wins needs to be @ ATL. Tampa game might be meaningless depending on the senarios at play.
