Cam Newton: First off, take sexual harassment very seriously. But these are allegations.

Cam Newton: "I basically almost got an NCAA violation -- almost got suspended -- because of an allegation. ... And in my case it was false."

Cam Newton on what a catch is: “It’s kind of like beauty. It’s in the eye of the beholder.”

Cam said he is trying to nudge to get mic’d up. Not sure, would that make for hundreds of fun clips or thousands?

Cam talking about the energy and leadership of the Panthers locker room. Quick to compliment their great practice today in the rain and cold.

Asked about Panthers getting just one Pro Bowler: “I’m focused on just one bowl game.”

Cam Newton on whether Panthers were snubbed on Pro Bowl: "I only have one bowl game I'm laser-focused on."

a couple of other things that made me smile

McCaffrey smiled when asked about the viral Clay Matthews “wheel route!” play, which ended with TD grab over middle. McCaffrey also pointed out that the wheel was still open despite that back-and-forth with Cam.

Kurt Coleman on what the defense will be like without TD this week. “Probably less yelling.”

The amount of respect that Cam and other team leaders have for JR should tell us, as fans, at least something about the type of man our (former) owner is.

I agree. He didn’t gain a lot of fans among players around the league during labor negotiations, but there are clearly a good many men who have come through this org that would run through walls for him. Cam, Pep, 89, and TD all seem to view him as a father figure.

That’s not excusing his flaws, but he has clearly earned loyalty from many.

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
