Nascar’s Brian France Reportedly Pushing As Possible Majority Owner For Panthers

And to speak on the owner... I don’t know the guy but judging from most of the resonposes from posters on here, he would seem to be more of the same good ole buy nonsense that we currently have. You know the ones that pass on Janoris Jenkins and the honey badger because”they are criminals and would destroy our locker room”. We need to put this mentality along with the owner.

a strong locker room should be used to turn those kinds of kids life around and make themselves a asset to our team while getting a stud player at a discount. That’s why they fall in the draft..as a risk.. we know they can ball.take some chances.

He ruined Nascar so, NO.

Nascar was never meant to last forever. There's no diversity and all the cars turn to the left.....granted really fast.  I've been to several races, and I think you gain a much bigger appreciation in person.  It's unwatchable on tv unless your a grease monkey or you go to most of the races.  Either way Nascar's base has been dwindling for years.  First with the Dale Earnhardt tragedy ( then several others), then with Gordon retiring, now with Dale Jr done....they may as well wrap it up.  If I was a Nascar exec...I'd look to jump ship to and latch on to a marketable product.

how about an indoor practice facility first...

We could totally use one of those this week.  Anytime we play a dome team....practice should be held in an indoor PF that week.  It's ridiculous that we don't have one.

Now I don't want a dome stadium...but I get it.  Bad weather doesn't affect turnout as badly...and domes are LOUD.  It would create a bigger homefield Adv.  So I get the pros to it.  They're just not as picturesque....and it's not paid for.

The right thing to do for the PSL holders that were sold “lifetime” rights to their seat is to dome the current stadium.  I am for a retractable roof as well.

Acceptable compromise would be a new domed stadium with retractable roof and real grass where existing PSL’s transfer into the equivalent seat in the new stadium and any excess seats are sold.

Most likely though, they will tell us to suck it while the pump the city, county, and state for funds, all while making our current PSL useless and forcing us to buy new ones at (much higher I’m sure) rates.

That's my fear as a PSL owner.

Honestly the best case scenario is letting Bezos buy the team if he agrees to build the new Amazon HQ in Charlotte. It guarantees the team stays in Carolina and you’re guaranteed a non meddling owner with money. Add Jordan as a minority owner to bring more star power to the team and we’re building a blueprint to be one of the best marketed teams in the league

To my knowledge no other team with a PSL stadium has built a new stadium in the same market, so we will essentially be the guinnea pigs when it happens.  If anyone knows of a case pleae feel free to correct me.

The rams had it when they abandoned STL and now are being sued so thats sort of a road map but is a different situation.

I know I personally will be pissed if they essentially make the PSL useless and don’t compensate fans fairly for them, but billionaires become billionaires on the back of the little guy so it wouldn’t shock me

Funny thing is PSL owners may be the “little man” compared to delusional billionaire a$$holes, but the vast majority of society doesn’t have the disposable income that most PSL owners do.  Even whispers of a new stadium should incense literally all but the very few delusional billionaire a$$holes.

There is ZERO sane relocation threat.

    • I'm right there with you, brother. I've been a Panther fan since the day the team was awarded to the Carolinas.  We've had some good years, a couple of great years, as well as some low periods and no consecutive winning seasons. But I never thought I'd see such a period as we have over the past several years.   It has gotten to the point of being rather apathetic in watching them. In fact, I told my wife before the Miami game I was watching just to see what new and creative way they lose another game. And early on, it looked like they would. But damned if Miami wasn't more creative than the Panthers.   I'm now older than my Dad when he died (he was 65) and, like you, I've wondered if I'll ever see them have another winning season. I'd sure like to think I will.
    • again, I am not his employer, I dont follow his stuff or read any of it including social media, but he has been employed long enough where someone thinks he is doing a good job, not disagreeing he isnt an moron but I am not calling for anyones job for being a moron when it really doesnt affect me
