Big hitting Safety just won Tenn a playoff game..

WOW!!

I think the problem with the safeties the Panthers have is that they go for big hits as opposed to securing the tackle. How many times has Coleman or Adams overrun a receiver looking for the big hit when simply breaking down and tackling would have gotten the job done? It happens all the time.

Shaq does it as well. I was rewatching the most recent Saints-Panthers game the other day. You can't convince me that Kamara scores the first touchdown if Shaq actually wraps up as opposed to trying to blow Kamara up. With the amount of missed tackles by the defense this year, the Panthers don't need "big hitters." They need guys in the back end who can tackle.

The one time they don’t throw a flag when they should have. It was targeting, launching; crown of helmet right into head. An intimidating S is a dinosaur in today’s game. If you hit anyone hard, it more than likely a penalty. And those players usually come with coverage limitations. I like him because he can cover some. But going after a “thumper” is part of our problem. We have to upgrade the coverage ability of both Safety positions

Nice Points and spot on.  WOW tends to be somewhat stupid  at times, in fact every time.  He still puts it out there, so you have to admire his persistence.  As well as our CBs tackle, I wonder at times if we are not going to try to move a CB to S--something Hurney did in the drafts back in the day.  Now I am going out on a limb:  Worley likes the play in front of him because he seems more comfortable with a large cushion and is really good at reading the run and coming up in support.  He is a solid and accurate tackler.  Personally, I might take a look at him at FS this offseason. (People will blast me for that, but I see it as a remote possibility)  He has good size and is playing a bit faster of late.

Coleman has not been good this year.

Helmet to helmet to give him a concussion. I personally don’t think it was legal, but it wasn’t a great thing either way. I hope this doesn’t happen to any of our players during the game... I wanted Tennessee to win, but players getting concussions is becoming a big issue for the NFL.
