It’s more of a Patriots style, relying on TE to be your big possession receiver.

YES YES YES

Usually you're batshit cray but smaller faster WRs to stretch the field and also get open fast and use the big bodied TEs to move the sticks. Do want.

It worked well when we had Smitty and our own two TE set....we'll be fine.

From what I know, I think Norv actually favors bigger receivers.

Remember his best success came in Dallas where they had Michael Irvin and Alvin Harper.

Said it elsewhere, but if Rivera brings in Turner, his goal might be to have someone who can coach Newton into a more traditional type of quarterback.

That's a very real possibility.

Rivera also said the read option isn't going away, right? If Turner can get Cam to be a little more like a traditional QB while maintaining the unique things Cam can do, that would be a very good thing for the panthers. Very bad for everybody else. Mainly , more consistent mechanics that would add a few more completions, few less interceptions.

Be really interesting to see what a new OC brings, whoever it is.

I cannot find it so I assume it was removed but wen I came into work there was a website that said we had already hired Turner.  I can't find it now.

Don't we still have to have a certain number of interviews and follow the Rooney rule?

Rooney Rule doesn't apply to assistants.

The website you're probably looking for is in the Yahoo thread by Juan.

That's what I thought but when I went back on Yahoo I couldn't find it.

Can a new OC issue playbooks to current players?  If so, I hope we get one signed pretty quickly, regardless of who it is and they get the playbook out to the players that will remain with the team.

You can’t really use his time in Minnesota has a fair gauge for what to expect from Norv. He had a quarterback in Bridgewater who didn’t really fit his system, and had a running back that also didn’t fit the system.

Norv excels with a power back and all purpose back combo as well as a tight end that is a threat downfield. He also likes taller receivers, so Funchess should fit in quite well, but I expect another taller receiver to be brought in... but one that is more athletic than Benjamin was. Most likely we’ll bring somebody who is 6’2” or 6’3” and fairly athletic.

So we actually have the pieces to thrive under Norv.

Martavious fuging Bryant 6’5’’, 4.34 time.
