Putting Cam under center in the Air Croyell will be the greatest blunder in the history of coaching hires.

Okay, forget Norm... even you like the hire and think he is a difference maker (which he clearly is not based upon his track record the last 20 years), why not hire an OC to take advantage of what the offense already does well?  The Panthers should be looking for a Kyle Shanahan type hire. Somebody who can take advantage of situational play calling to utilize the speed of Samuel, CMC, and Cam to exploit the edges of a defense in situational play calling. Even if you think Norm is the greatest OC of all-time, this team is not talented enough to run a system that depends on so many moving parts. It's strength is athleticism and quickness.

Dude it’s Norv.

not Norm.

giving me a headache

He has not been hired yet guys. There is a reason it hasn't happened yet and I think everyone will be surprised when he doesn't come here.

Disappointed...not surprised if it doesnt happen...like I said it probably has been on back burner for a minute...

What does Cam do well? What are the key functions of Norv's O?  Seems like a fit to me.

CMC? Go check out Tomlinson's best seasons.  Norv knows what to do with a dynamic RB.

Cam rewrote the NFL history books Norv's freaking offense.  But now he can't handle it?

I really love the way you guys rally around the troops when something seems inevitable.

Minnesota fired this guy half through the season and Zimmer doesn't seem to be doing so bad does he?  Notice they also got rid of all those bell cows like Peterson, that great free agent at OL we picked up, and then started Case Keenum at QB and will probably be hosting the Super Bowl this year.  I guess Zimmer must suck and have no idea what he's doing, and he fired old Norm for no reason.

Norm Turner literally had the highest paid team in NFL history and got fired. He hasn't done anything in nearly 30 years as a professional football coach but waste the careers of Gates, LT, and Phillip Rivers. He got fired with the Redskins with the highest paid team in NFL history.

Oh I get it you're one of those guys who looks at headlines and situations without actually reading up on anything or the situations around it.

Remember Gettleman's square peg in a round hole analogy? That's what happened when Norv. Keenum and Bridgewater (and Bradford, but he probably has the best arm strength of the 3) are West Coast guys. They get the ball out quick. They can't throw deep consistently. That's what Norv's offense is.

Greg Olson got fired in 2016 despite being considered one of the best QB gurus and better offensive coordinators in the leauge and now the Jags are in the playoffs GUESS GOOD OL GRUDEN MADE A MISTAKE HIRING HIM DEREK CARR IS SCREWED.

Just gonna go ahead and say it.  Cam already struggles with throwing off his back foot in the shotgun.  I've said all along Cam's issue has never been accuracy. That has never been THE problem -- the issue is getting that big body of his in a position to make the throw. Norv put Bridgewater in this system and he was expected to be a dual-threat QB a lot like Cam, and Teddy ended up getting pressured more than any QB in the league on said plays. Basically, it took away his greatest strength and forced him to play in a system he had never played at the same time.

lol.  Cam is made for the Air Coryell, with tweaks to maximize his skills.  He has a strong arm, great pocket awareness, and great accuracy on deep balls.  In addition, Cam is at his best on 7 step drops, which he will be doing a lot of in this system.  Look back at Cam's rookie season.  You tube videos will show just how many of his highlight throws came from when he was under center.  It appears to me that when Cam is under center and drops back 5-7 yards, he plants his foot to stop his drop and tends to step into the throw, illustrating better mechanics.  In the shotgun he stands there and receives the snap, maybe shuffles backwards a step or two, then throws off his back foot.  IMO, the Air Coryell better suits Cam.  If we add speedy, above average receivers, this offense could be special once again like it was in 2011.

Cam under center in the Air Coryell system earned him the rookie passing record.
