I saw where the Raiders are bringing Tom Cable back to be their OL coach.  It got me thinking.

Obviously he is bringing his son to be QB coach.  Any word whether he will replace the other coaches? I haven't heard whether he will want his own coaches or will he keep what we have?

Any thoughts?  On good RB, OL, WR coaches out there?

Not sure who would be available but I wonder if Proehl would ever come back? It'll be interesting to see if Norv is comfortable with Lance Taylor/Cotchery teaching his style to the WR corps. Also, I don't think Ray Brown or Jim Skipper are going anywhere.

I read on the Huddle that Proehl wasn’t thought of as a good coach. I saw it on the Huddle so it must be true.

Ahhh yes, forgot about that. Oh well, I would love to know how Taylor is viewed but he didn't have a lot to work with this year.

I think Taylor will be safe due to his comfort with CMC.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him move up to OC one day.  Someone said he had a really good offensive mind.

I wouldn't expect changes beyond what have already been made.  This was clearly a move designed for Cam, thus Rivera fired the OC and QB coach.  Everyone else is probably safe if they want to be.

Coordinators don't generally have a say in the staff, especially not when the assistants were hired before them. Head coaches make all those choices.

Now, Rivera does have massive respect for Turner, so if Norv were to say something Ron might listen, but I think other than Scott Norv is going to accept everything as is.

Lame. I also heard on the huddle he was an awesome coach.

A while back, Voth indicated that Taylor was someone who would push the receivers to work harder, something he indicated Proehl didn't do.

Actually the opposite.... Everyone here thought Proehl was amazing when he left. And now with results kind of speaking for themselves it doesn't really seem that way....

Yep. This fan base is so damn sentimental and because Proehl wore a Panthers jersey, then by default he must be the greatest coach ever. I'm floored by the lack of Steve Smith for OC threads

Lance Taylor did an amazing job with Funch and Byrd this year. Can’t wait to see him work with more weapons
