Now why did the Steelers get rid of Lebeau again?

This is what happens when you load up on glitzy skill position guys and neglect a defense.  You get lit up by the Jags.  And to think some of you WR jock sniffers want to spend 10 to 15 million on a guy like Allen Robinson smh

Steelers actually had one of the top defenses in the league this year. Killed them when Shazier went out. He's not quite Luke good but he is their leader on D and the brain of their D as well as extremely talented.

If the Steelers had Cam,  they'd be damned near unbeatable (not that I'd pay Robinson anywhere near that kind of money...or any of them).

Prisco has this one

The Jaguars dominated the Steelers in Week 5, picking off Ben Roethlisberger five times in a rout. This time around, they can’t expect that to happen again. The Jacksonville defense is as good as it gets, but the Steelers seemed to get it together on offense down the stretch, even if Antonio Brown’s health bears watching here. If the Jaguars are to win this game, they have to open things up. If they think they will line up and win with their running game, they are nuts. They need to take some shots. They can’t count on the defense to have another day like it did in October. The Steelers are the better team. And they have the much better quarterback. That matters in January. Steelers will be moving on.

Watching the Steelers performance here really makes you appreciate the fight the Panthers and especially Cam put up against the Saints. The Steelers overall had the talent to get far in the playoffs compared to the Panthers and they came out flat from start to finish.

Come on Top Dawg... Big Ben is an elite QB, they wouldn't be any better with Cam. Big Ben actually fits their offense and the rest of their players better than Cam would.

26, or 28 points should be enough to win a playoff game, whether you are the Panthers or the Steelers.  Wilks' defense getting dunked on 3x by New Orleans killed us, just like Steelers getting embarrassed by Blake freakin' Bortles.

The Panthers actually came close to winning last week unlike the Steelers.

    • What's wrong with Damien Lewis? He played pretty well last year.
    • Official NFL Cuts Tracker Deadline for roster cuts is Tuesday, August 26th. At this moment (Friday, August 22nd) the only interesting names I see are... K Caden Davis (BUF) RB Ameer Abdullah (SF) WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF) WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (NO) LB Khaleke Hudson (TEN) Abdullah, St. Brown, Peoples-Jones I don't exactly think we should cut anybody for but it was just interesting seeing those names. Khaleke Hudson was on the Panthers' practice squad last year I believe and might have even gotten called up? And of course, Caden Davis just because of the question mark at kicker this season for the team.
    • I'll say 6/10. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole. For all the hype surrounding Sanders/Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
