True.  But as mad and frustrated as he, and ex-Pats seemed to be...you would think it would slip out.

Maybe if Bill films McDaniels practices in Indy, we will get the real scoop.

I kind of wonder if the leaks about him having broken a rule or something like that might be spin from people who don't want Belichick to look stupid for benching him.

Better than Worley. Sign him up. Win a ring next year.

That’s the only reason I’m participating in this discussion.

Personally if there was no issue keeping Butler from playing in the SB— then we can all talk about the dumbest decision Belicheck ever made.

the game was so close,  if butler knocks even a couple of those Phily chunk plays down then the Patriots win.

Belicheck may be the greatest coach ever outside of Lombardi but this is his dumbest trying to be cute move ever.

IF Butler did nothing. He probably did but it’s the Super Bowl so who cares,...

Butler played 97.8 % of defensive snaps before SB---something does not add up .

If he had really done the kinds of things that have been whispered, would the locker room have been as divided as the local reporter suggests it was?

I suppose it's still possible, but I agree this isn't adding up.

This keeps getting weirder and weirder.

Tom and BB feuding, Kraft siding with Brady, BB benching Butler likely costing them another ring, McD coming back after "leaving".

This is smelly.

Yeah, but it's helping keep our team's dysfunction from being the lead story at the national level.

At this point, that's a "thank God for small favors" thing.

Something definitely happened behind the scenes where McDaniels was guaranteed to be Belichick's successor... and soon. I'm not saying that Belichick is retiring this offseason, but I'd almost be surprised if this coming season wasn't his last.
