I see him as a vertical WR  (X).  Now, I could be wrong---I am not his agent-but I think he could fill that role for us.

Absolutely. His biggest strength is his ability as a deep threat. That's a lot more valued in a Coryell than a WCO.

I kinda figured.

what is your thinking?

I like the idea. Guys that come from offenses that are a little quirky sometimes make me paranoid though.

We don't necessarily have the "Wilson runs around behind the line for five seconds and then throws up a prayer" play on our books.

But granted, that's speculative.

Yeah, it is hard to get a feel for Richardson based on that--I can tell you from my experience in college as a TE, when you make your break and the ball is not there when it is supposed to be,  you slow down, go into free lance mode, etc.  The QB loses accuracy, etc.  But Wilson can't pretend to see the field from the pocket.  When the QB throws on the move, it tends to curve or fade at times.  Harder to catch.

I mean, the general consensus is that Seahawks receivers are well-coached. They do know how to come back on a broken play and give their quarterback a chance.

I would think they would have to be, but that would/could neutralize his talent advantage.  I actually resorted back to his college experience and hope that is a better indicator of his potential.

Granted, it's kind of difficult when you're 15 yards downfield on a 9 route then you turn and see your quarterback running around behind the pocket.

Having two steps on your cover guy becomes kind of meaningless at that point.

I had the same reaction, but he is not in an offense that takes advantage of his skill set.  He got about 750 yards last year--I think that is better than Funchess.  Norv will want a deep ball.

I think he is worth $7-8m, but that is a bit of a gamble.

Funchess totaled 840 yards
