Panthers leave trail of injured bodies

I know someone mention it before, but beware of the black cats:it appears the Redskins will be without Pro Bowl left tackle Chris Samuels for the remainder of the season because of a career-threatening neck injury he suffered at the beginning of the 20-17 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

I'm sure if you did research, you could find that every team has a high list of players they've injured...but it sure seems like the Panthers have indeed done just that in recent memory. This is just off the top of my head but McNabb (twice), Culpepper, Simms, Samuels, Bush, Hester, and we could do this all day. Maybe it's just because I pay attention to only us, but damn...we're like headhunters.

At the end of the year when the playoffs are just a little out of reach, the Panthers could start being the spoilers and do some good headhunting, keeping other teams from making the playoffs or crippling them so they do poorly in the playoffs, that would be satisfying enough!:D p.s. Just don't hurt Brett Farve too much,I'd like to see him do well!

That same article has this little bit of info in it:

Samuels plans to meet with physicians Tuesday to re-evaluate his injury, but after speaking with league sources the past two days, I expect Samuels to sit out the rest of the season and seriously contemplate retirement. When you start talking about spinal cords (Samuels has played with stenosis, a narrowing of the spine, since high school.) and possible nerve damage, well, Samuels is too smart to risk his future health. No player in that locker room is tougher or more dedicated to his teammates than Samuels; he's proven that time and time again, players said, but it's not as if he has a broken arm or a high-ankle sprain. We're talking about being able to walk.

I heard Samuels got a stinger in the game with us which aggravated the above listed health issue he already had.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
