None of this makes sense.  Which makes it hard to believe.

If he actually did this and a cop witnessed it, then why wasn't Bennett arrested on the spot?

There is a slight chance I'm wrong but it smells like bullshit

Not true.  At a major international event like this, an officer or officers taking himself “out of the fight” to do paperwork/the arrest on the spot and off his spot at the event may easily have to be more extreme than this.  Can easily justify getting the info and processing/warrant/etc. later.

One side claims they have video, the other side says a cop witnessed it.

Why was a 66 year old woman running a field gate in the first place. And why did she say you have to go another way. So why didn’t he go the other way. This is 100% a PR stunt for the sheriff and prosecutors. Who both probably have elections this year.

Why is the Houston PD police chief influencing the investigation and personally releasing statements about this if it happened a year ago, and in front of a cop?

This sounds like some 1960's jim crow poo.

That’s exactly what this is. Just some folks trying to make sure Bennett knows his place.

Nothing will come of this..

I still smell bullshit.  I doubt a large belligerent black man saying fug you when confronted by a cop would get let off so easily.

Honestly without evidence from Bennett’s side I wouldn’t be so sure.

It basically equates to felony assault. And I’m sure they are going to try and make him plead guilty to reduce the charge. He better hope his sis got that video.

so this happened before the Vegas stuff, but they never cared to peruse it until after he made himself an enemy of the police by speaking out. uh huh. and a cop just happened to witness it all. uh huh.

what most likely happened: bennett wanted to get to the field. old lady said he had to use another gate. bennett thought that was ridiculous and pointless to walk around the stadium to another gate when that one was perfectly fine. lady considered that a challenge to her almight rent-a-cop authority. old lady tried to physically block him while he walked through and got herself bumped or brushed passed. got even more furious her authority wasn't respected and reported it.

We’ll see. If I’m wrong, *shrugs* I have no problem admitting I’m wrong.

Nothing will come of this, just like nothing will come from LVPD and his supposed “lying”

Someone saying fug you?  Big deal.  Unless an officer clearly thought that not arresting him on the spot would have lead to Bennett committing more crimes or being a threat to himself or others, getting a warrant later (especially if working the Super Bowl) is easily justified from the outside.

I'm not here to argue.  I still smell bullshit and that won't change.

A month and a half later? For the State, the best they get is a misdemeanor and at worst the case gets dropped. Overzealous prosecutors trying to make political grandstands always overcharge stars. This will get headlines and will likely help the DA win votes for a future move in politics.

He was charged after being indicted by a grand jury

There’s complete video evidence of his “supposed” lying

Well then they should bring charges against him and he should be punished.

Like i said; I have no problems admitting if I’m wrong. Never have. LVPD should charge him..

Question: is shoving a young healthy woman you know into a bed of guns worse than shoving a paraplegic woman you don’t know into the ground?

If if not then Bennett should be immediately commissioner exempt listed while Eagles have to eat the cap hit.

To be honest, if a massive NFL defensive end was going to push me, the best place in the world I could possibly hope to land would be on a bed of guns.
