It's not that big of a deal people keep freaking out about age and they know nothing about football. Your lucky to get 6-7 years out of someone with all the concussions and injuries. Nobody can tell me different so don't try.

We just covered this “your” vs. “you’re” subject earlier today and yet you continue to make the same error while calling the intelligence of others into question simply because they have an opinion different from your own.

You honestly post like you have the mental capacity of a 3rd grader.

Somewhat on topic with the thread but not warranting it's on... People aren't really talking Mike McGlinchey for us. But are we completely sure he's not an option?

We have Moton, who may get a look at Guard.  Daryl Williams is going into a contract year, and is about to command BIG money.  Would be nice if Marty locked him up this off-season. Matt Kalil could be a June 1st cut after next season (I think) and start saving us money...Over the Cap may or may not be right on that.

So conceivably, we might be in need of an OT after this year in a doomsday scenario, or at least a new LT in a couple years.  The big knock on McGlinchey is needing to add strength & size (he will do that), and that he looks better on the right.  With the above scenarios, we could need a new RT or LT for all we know.  So..why not McGlinchey?  Too much of a Vernon Butler type situation?

If he’s there I think he at least has to be in consideration. My concern is that I’m not sure he’s a LT in the NFL and we already have a very good young RT.  If we think he’s a LT I have no problem taking him at #24 but if we do we have to move on from Matt Khalil after this season. Enough of this junk of spending 1st round picks on players who are going to be relegated to reserve roles for multiple years.

Dude it's a damn post I'm typing quick and not even paying attention. Don't worry you just butt hurt because you know nothing about football and I called you out on the average age for a football player. You can't find nothing else to catch me on but that. I said fug you and good day sir!

He hardly ever came off the field at Purdue. He played a lot of snaps while basically exhausted.

If he was 21 or 22 he would’ve gone in the 1st.

I don’t know. Star was only 10 months younger and he went 14th. Sylvester Williams made in the first round and he’s only 9 months Younger than short.

I’m sure age is always a consideration with any prospect but I just don’t agree Short’s is the only reason he wasn’t taken in the 1st

I don’t think it’s the only reason but I definitely think it likely played a factor.

Age is more of a factor for skill positions rather than guys especially in the interior of the trenches.

Kevin Whites agent knew it and is why he ALWAYS lied about his age. It only came to light after the bears drafted him that he was older than they originally thought.

Just my personal opinion but no way am I passing on what I consider to be BPA because they turned 23(referring to Ridley here)the prior December regardless of what position they play.

“Average” means nothing when we’re talking 1st round picks. As I’ve pointed out to your simple ass numerous times the average career of a 1st rounder is 9.3 years. I honestly don’t think you have the mental ability to process the difference.

Some teams have some really rigid black and white rules about all sorts of things in place for draft prospects. I don’t think it’s a very smart approach but it does happen.

One scout’s comments on Corn Elder leading up to last year’s draft.

"I love the player, but he's too small for what we are asked to look for. He falls below our minimum size requirements. But someone else is going to get a good player. I would fight for him if I could." - NFC North area scout

Finally found the time to do enough research to narrow down my list of favorite potential targets for our 24th pick.

WR, Calvin Ridley

CB, Jaire Alexander

DE, Harold Landry.

Guard, Isiah Wynn

Interested to hear some more opinion's on this, so who are you hoping for at 24?

Telling you right now we are going RB.
