Hurney has done a terrible job of finding talent in the Udfa so I don't expect much from this bunch.

UDFA are UDFA’s for a reason, the only position that sometimes works out are the small school offensive linemen.

some people act like every single pick is a 1st or 2nd round pick, when in reality after the 3rd round it’s a complete crap shoot, and part of the reason why I hate that we traded away one of outbursts 3rd picks.

gererally if you can get one starter out of a draft it’s a good draft, 2 is amazing, the rest of he players you’re hoping become solid depth at best.

As it turns out, that 3rd pick we traded away turned out into one of my favorite picks of the draft in Ian Thomas, so I'm not as upset with it as I was on Friday night.  I look at the draft similarly to you in that I think the first three rounds should give us contributors where the rest give us backups. Luckily, this year, I think we can stretch that through the top of the 4th.

Honestly I disagree. Small things like UDFAs are where good teams become great. Like Dave finding Philly Brown and the White Buffalo. Of course Norwell exceeded all expectations but it just goes to show even players like Philly can help. Hurney wasted two UDFA signings on QB. A almost worthless pick up that could have been used at other positions like RB, LB, and DB. Just like him drafting a LB who probably would have been there in UDFA. It's small things like that make differences.
