KUDOS to Ron Meeks

2 straight games with a healthy defense. his system is starting to come together. we gave up only a touchdown this game and in my opinion just a field goal in the previous game against the redskins. i feel the two turnovers giving the skins the ball at the 13, then again at the 1 shouldn't be attributed to the defense.

when the offense doesn't hurt us, the defense plays really well. stick to the running game, eat up the clock, keep the D rested and we can have moderate success. we just can't have our offense and special teams give up TD's and field position because if we get behind, we abandon the run and we've seen the results. Jake can't win games for us.

If we can keep it close enough to keep running, our Meeks defense can close out the game.

nice job ron, you're head and shoulders above what we had previously and i hope you can stick around after the head coaching changes are eventually made.

I somewhat agree here. We did play 2 pretty bad offensive football teams but we did play very well in those games.

Even before Pep woke up and C. Harris returned, the defense played decent against Philly and Dallas. With these two guys playing well, this defensive unit is really coming around.

Your game plan is 100% accurate. We must run the ball, control the clock, and keep this defense rested. Rested they can help us win.

considering how were about to be the number one team stopping the pass if the giants give up a lot next week and we stay on pace for our average we should be okay against the cards.... the saints... well i have given up any hope of winning the NFC south this year. We are competiting with the bears, packers, 49'ners, eagles, cowboys, and falcons for that the two wildcard spots.

I think the defense is playing better also. They didn't play that bad in the Dallas game. I like Everette Brown he is going to be a good player for us. We may going through a new defensive system next year also if Fox gets fired, which I think he will. I hope we make the playoffs and he saves his job and all is good but looking at it objectively we have to improve a lot to be playoff caliber.

we already have losses to the eagles and falcons so there are two teams with an advantage on us. beating them outright in the W/L column is most likely not going to happen.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
