Have you ever been to Spartanburg/Wofford? Boone has about 3 times the amount of hotels. Boone is a tourist location with tons of lodging options considering its size. Spartanburg is not.

TC isn't just about Wofford.  It has been a partnership with the city, county, and Sptbg Convention & Visitors Bureau also.  The SCVB promotes training camp every year.  There has been 23 years of success in hosting the Panthers.  Fan access to the players is great.  Sptbg, Wofford, and the Panthers have done a great job improving on the experience and taking care of the fans that come. Also Panthers, Wofford, and JR have invested in keeping facilities top notch. In 2016 over 135,000 fans attended TC and last year just over 100,000.  That is a lot of people for roughly 14/15 practices.  I'm sure Sptbg will go all in to try to keep TC for another contract.  The economic impact for the county for 2017 TC was reported to be 13.24 million.  For selfish reasons I hope it stays here.  If not, it has been a good run and it will be here for 2 more summers.  

Considering the $$$ Tepper has given his alma mater, he at least should understand and identify with why JR let Morrison know in 1987 he was going after a franchise.

Don't think it will be moved, Wofford gives the Panthers control of practically the entire campus and it's remote enough to keep the players focused while still close enough to CLT for MRI's and other needs.

You can't divorce JR from this equation. Everyone will mention sptng buisness or Wofford easy to use, open, willing. None of that matters to the NFL. If there wasn't the huge JR stamp all over the school maybe but that's not the case. The NFL wants JR out of the public's eye and keeping it there does exactly the opposite. Every time they talk about training camp will have the media point out the JR association, the statue, the arena. You can't fix that.

It's not up to the NFL, the decision belongs to Tepper and I think he'll realize that as a practical matter it makes sense to keep it where it is. Like you said, you can't divorce JR from the equation, his fingerprints are all over this team and always will be.

Probably build and a new facility near Charlotte with an indoor area for bad weather .  The big cat is done and i wish him well. i thank him for bringing us an NFL team but its time to move on .  Next year UNC Charlotte might be used . I look forward to a new era for the Panthers .

Football stadium at UNCC bears Jerry Richardson's name.

The Panthers' owner and founder committed $10 million to the stadium Tuesday and also endowed a football scholarship in honor of his son, Jon Richardson.

He has been a generous man.

Exactly. Boone is a tourist spot . As such the hotels stay booked all summer with Floridians and flat landers trying to get out of the heat . And Greenville/ Spartanburg is many times larger than Boone .  10 hotels in Boone . A quick google search shows me over 30 in the Greenville area. Nice try tho.

Yes please. I live in Wilmington, and my Parents have a place outside Boone. Either of these would certainly make my life easier.
