Uber/Lyft on game days

Most games I have a 2 hour drive back to Winston Salem so a little wait shouldn't be too bad.

Are you planning on drinking heavily? There's a parking deck right by the stadium, just wait till traffic clears (go get some food) and then leave. Cheaper and more dependable than Uber.

No more than normal. We tailgate with a big group and will have a cooler and chairs we will need to retrieve. The tailgate hires security to watch stuff during the game.

Parking is $50 or so as close as we need to be for my wife

Wow, didn't realize it was that much to use the deck. Just for fun, try getting a room at the Residence Inn there or the Hampton down the street.

Edit- Nvm, no availability those dates.

I uber but i wait until the surge price is done. After I'll go to down town bars and I'll go out to eat and kill time so the time I  leave the surge prIce is dead

About how long after the game does the surge price last

If you are talking about the parking deck next to Residence Inn you can't park in there without a team issued pass. It's primarily for club and luxury box tickets.

I have stayed at that Residence Inn for a few games. I used to travel a lot for work and had tons of Marriott rewards points. You had to book early and without the free room rewards the price was north of $250.

Like everyone else said, walk as far as you can away from the immediate stadium area before Ubering.

Even if you've parked near the stadium (hotel, whatever) - it's still sssssssslow getting out of that immediate area onto the highway for at least 90 minutes after game time.

You could also take the light rail. It's still a pain in the ass after games due to everyone trying to cram in but it's another option especially since your place is in south end.

This is honestly your best bet and it includes free entertainment.

Anybody ever used Uber or Lyft to and from the stadium on game dsys? Is it doable?

I have an Airbnb nearby for 2 games this season. Season parking fell through and am considering going game to game

My wife and I live close enough that it's about a 30 minute walk through Dilworth/South End, but when we're in a hurry we uber up to South End and walk in from there. Have them take you up to the Gin Mill and walk in from there. Stop by Unknown and have a beer and take your time getting to the stadium. When the game is over, walk back in the same direction and call for an Uber once you get to an area where traffic is staring to clear. There's a ton going on downtown now during game days, not like 10 years ago. It's actually pretty fun walking to games now.

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
