More speculation on new practice facilities

No one wants to drive out that way. South Carolina will offer better incentives than Charlotte and will be a much cheaper and expandable market.

The Eastland Mall site is literally five minutes away from where the stadium is now. Why would no one want to drive out that way?

The problem with another site in Charlotte is that it doesn't fulfill the "two Carolinas" vibe that Tepper wants, and by all accounts he's pretty serious about that notion.

Places in Fort Mill, like the one Towelboy mentioned, fit into that ideal.

Why even move the stadium then? Same BS with worse traffic flow. South Carolina would give a better deal, in a better location, with less red tape.

Gantt explained it well on wfnz. Practice facilities are not built for the sake of fancy training facilities. They are built for business sake. They would be built away from the current stadium in order to better utilize that prime realestate next to the stadium for something that generates revenue. It would be built in order to use the space in the Stadium currently housing training facilities to be used for revenue generating purposes.

I am all for a fancy practice facility paid for or at least participating in the cost by State and Local Gov.  That way it would more likely mean Tepper won't be getting the same for a new stadium... maybe for the current one but a new one and that would make me very happy :shades::)

5 minutes is an extreme exaggeration

Snake, I agree. I don’t think moving the stadium to the Eastland Mall site is the answer.

Billy,

I live right off Sharon Amity by the QT which is on the backside of the Eastland Mall site, it literally takes me 5 minutes to get uptown.

Yeah I agree, just making the statement that it’s not far away. Other than a dome and a bigger site for a stadium, why would anyone in their right mind that knows this area want to deal with 77 traffic? It’s already gridlocked half the time. Can you imagine that plus football traffic?

If there is zero traffic which is never

Other than first thing in the morning, I’ll give you that. But I drive it everyday and it’s never that bad, no where close to the traffic you’d see if the stadium was in Fort Mill and you had 77 traffic plus football traffic. But once again, I definitely do not think the stadium should be in the Eastland Mall parking lot haha, I just don’t think it’s that far that people wouldn’t want to “drive that way”.

Not the stadium, the practice facility. I can't imagine either being there.
