I hear ya, BUT, If Amini is actually our starting guard coming out of camp, something is extremely amiss.  I also think (as several others have pointed out) that our blocking scheme was overly complicated and our receivers moved very few people out of the middle of the field last season. CMC is more of a make you miss guy than a run over you guy. With even mediocre lanes open, there's no reason he can't do this.

Obviously, those 200 runs won't all come up the gut.  CJ is 3 inches shorter and 16 pounds heavier, and, more importantly, had success between tackles last season.

I’m excited about Norv and the weapons. Having multiple options will open things up for CMC. I really hope it come together, even if it makes us realize how much opportunity we wasted with Shula!

  Yep. Get the safeties back and see what happens.

he said in an interview from TC that he was playing at 202 last season and hes 208 now

iirc in the first half of the season he was averaging about 1 carry per quarter of play which is nothing for a RB

That is a huge workload increase, especially if that means he keeps his 5 receptions per game average too. 

I'm really curious how they go about splitting the time between CJ and CMC. I dont think CJ is just going to cleanly replace Stewart and get the lions share of carries , but who really knows the truth at this point.

The reason for the complexity was because we couldn't move guys at the line one on one. If Moton steps up we are good but converts always have growing pains.

We had Norwell last season, as well as Trai...and we couldn't run the ball effectively all season.  As I stated last season as well....if we can't scheme around a decent LT, when we have two of the best G's and one of the best C's (although injured), I'm not sure that paying Trai or Norwell was the answer.

Usually teams that have good to great interior linemen can run the ball even with scrubs at the RB position, and while Stew certainly looked washed up, he is still decent, and CMC (IMO) can be a very good back.

At the end of the day, I think that Shula was more of an issue than the G's or CMC and Stew.  Norv should be able to scheme around a couple problem spots, something that Shula failed to do.

That sounds about right, but I haven't looked it up. He definitely got more touches later in the season.

Turner took a huge step back last year. Most said it's because he had to pick up people for the Center. IF Ryan Kalil stays healthy maybe we will see old Turner.
