Panthers one of 5 teams in the decline??

They seemed to wonder if Norv can do better than Shula.  With Cam, Olson, McCafrey, Anderson, and our new weapons at receiver, I don't know if Norv has ever had a more talented offense even against the cowboys.

I don't think they realize...if we get more than a yard on first down, we're doing better.

Did you all miss that Kalil video yesterday from practice? He's not going to have any help this year especially if Amini is starting. Then there's the secondary which is now worse.

Thanks for reminding everyone. Be sure to keep it up every week. I would hate anyone to be optimistic and positive. Can't have that now can we.

there's a difference between pessimistic and realistic. just like there's a difference between being a homer and an optimist.

There is a difference between a realist and pessimist  but most pessimistic people use the realism excuse to justify their negative attitude. Being positive is just as realistic as being negative and the research supports you will be happier and live longer.  And the major difference between an optimist and homer is simply a point of view or degree of optimism. I have no problem being called a homer, I prefer it to being a depressed complainer who always brings everyone else down and enjoys the negative.  To each his own.

Considering Cam, Luke, KK, and Greg Olsen are beginning the descent in their careers this is feasible. If ESPN is talking about over the coming years, but if they are talking decline for this season, then its just a piece to occupy space.

Cam is barely 30 and Luke is in his prime. Stew and his 3.4 ypc and fumbles is gone, much better receivers, Cmc is stronger and should be better And Cam is healthy 13 and 3?

im not sure what you are stating here..... I am thinking you are agreeing with me?

If you read again, I am saying this article is just to fill space if they are referring to the season. However, if they are referring to us as a team beginning its decline over the next 3-4 years, then yes.We are at our peak of potential this year.

This whole decline idea might be true if we were static and not adding pieces all the time. It isn't as if we have to have Cam for 8 more years. If he declines we will replace him with someone else who may or may not be better. And why is Cam done at 33 and Brady is still good at 40. If Cam stops taking so many hits he could play another 10 years as well for example. Too simplistic logic which doesn't account for how the NFL actually works.

So you see Cam morphing his skillset into that of a Brady or Brees? That would be awesome, but is unlikely.

Writers have no choice but to keep cranking out content. A month from now the same writer might say we're one of 5 teams that are on the rise. The reality is that only the coaches have a good idea of where we're at right now. We fans won't know until somewhere around the middle of the season, and then reality sets in. The problem for our Panthers is that we're in the NFCS and it's brutal.

No I expect him to be more of a pocket passer and take checkdowns and what the defense gives him instead of always trying to do too much on his own. Would that make him more like Brady or Brees?

I'm already prepping myself for some rough years in the near future (5+ years)... I don't think we see a Super Bowl in the next ten years. That is a very sobering thought.

And I think we see it this year. And that excites me enough to not be sober.
